The 3.2 variant of the Mondial debuted in 1985 and featured long list of improvements over the previous generation. Just 810 3.2 Cabriolets were built from 1985 through 1988. This is a classic Ferrari sports car with the following:Mid-engine 3.2 liter DOHC V8, 4 Valves per cylinder (quattrovolve), 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, Rack and Pinion Steering, Double Wishbone Independent Suspension, Ventilated Disc Brakes, Power Window, plus, its RED. Like its cousin the 328, the Mondial 3.2 boasts a 4 valve per cylinder (quattrovolve) dual overhead cam V8 that was a descendant of Ferrari's 1980's Formula 1 cars. The 1988 Mondial 3.2 would be the final model year that retained the relatively low maintenance costs of the 308/328 drive allowing major service items like timing belt and clutch replacement to be performed with the engine/transmission package still in the car. This version is rated at 270hp. This car was produced in the last half year of 1988. The exterior looks amazing. This one is painted in brilliant "Rosso Corsa" with a beige interior - a classic Ferrari combination. There are no significant dents or dings, and the top is in excellent condition. Alloy wheels with the prancing horse logo finish off the exterior look. Inside, the car is also remarkable. The seats have no holes or tears, and the interior in general looks fantastic. This car has just 21,903 original miles on it, and the Carfax report shows accurate miles and no accident history. Creature comforts include power windows, air conditioning and an Alpine AM/FM/Cassette stereo. The manual is included, and so is a full car cover; and two covers for the top (beige and black). This is an nice Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet that looks fantastic, and it runs great. A great conversation piece at car shows, a head-turner on the street, and just plain fun. A tough combination to beat. The man that I had purchased it from called it a 1988 1/2, as far as I know this just means it was built in the last half of that production year. When purchased I was told the three year major maintenance of Timing Belt replacement and valve adjustment had been done in 2015, which means it would be due in 2018. It also is leaking a little oil from a valve cover gasket on to an exhaust manifold. This would be replaced with the major maintenance which also includes the manual adjustment of the valves. I did not receive any maintenance records with the car except for the carfax report. It includes the Convertible top, the 2 bonnets (tan and black), manual, and the standard Ferrari tool box that came with the car from the factory in Italy.
