1984 Ferrari Mondial QV Cabriolet

Every once in a while we come across a car like this. It was pampered and coddled then put away and forgotten for many years. The owner parked this car one day in his garage, disconnected the battery, put a car cover over her and did nothing else. This car's original paint is in very nice shape, its leather interior is intact and would certainly benefit from conditioner, but is in fine shape overall with no rips or tears. Dashboard, gauges, and rest of interior are intact. The only modification is the addition of an after-market stereo. Convertible top is not ripped either, although one of the clips is faulty.

The architecture of this car's 3.0 QV lightweight cast alloy V-8 engine, with its 5 main bearing, flat plane crankshaft is shared with other Ferraris of this era. It is a lovely engine that once serviced and sorted should give many years of enjoyable and reliable motoring. It is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic electronic fuel injection and a 5 speed manual transmission.

Known History: Car was purchased by its current owner, driven very sparingly (perhaps only once) and then parked in garage. Mileage on Virginia title is 38,420 and is listed as ACTUAL. Mileage on odometer is 38,258. Title is clear.

Michelin TRX tires appear in good shape and show very little wear.

As stated above this car is NOT running. No attempt was made to start it as we are quite certain that the cam belts need servicing. We are consigning this car for the owner whose health prevents him from driving.

Other known issues: Car needs new key switch on ignition. Steering column is NOT locked.

For the right person this car could be a fabulous deal. These cars are now trading at between $30 and $40 thousand and even upwards of that - with the market trends pointing ever upwards. Many, if not most Mondials being sold are overdue for their timing belt service. This car is available for a fraction of the current market value.
