1976 Ferrari 308 GT4 "Dino"
Beautiful 1976 Ferrari 308 GT4 "Dino" in Black on Tan leather interior with 26,685 miles. This is a beautiful example of a 308 GT4 that has been thoroughly maintained by it's owner who is a lifelong mechanic. With a manual gated shifter, no power steering, awesome brakes and an engine with carburetors, this is as pure a driver's car as you can get. I have been driving it as much as I can for about the last month, and this car is an absolute pleasure to take on the road. This is not a project car by any means, nor is it a concours quality car. It is an honest drivers car that you purchase to really enjoy driving or make perfect while it appreciates in value, which it surely will.
Mechanicals
The engine of this car starts and runs like clock-work. The owner has constantly serviced and taken care of this car, with the most recent service being the replacement of the following:
- timing belt
- timing tensioner
- water pump
- thermostats
- valve cover gaskets
- spark plugs and wires
- point condensor
- rear seal
- alternator belt
- rebuilt carbs
- full fluid change including transmission oil
- air filter and fuel filter
The clutch was also replaced. The suspension is very tight and the steering rack was replaced. This is a really tight car that drives amazing. The gear shift should be adjusted to get first gear to slot perfectly. The headers were also replaced within the last 2 years. Everything is functioning as it should on this car.
Exterior
The exterior is in great shape overall, however, with any car of this age, it is not perfect. The trunk lid has one ding and a crease on the edge (looks like something fell on it). The rest of the paint is in good shape with minor scratches on a few of the panels that can be polished up. The bumpers are in great shape overall as well, but could use a nice cleaning to make perfect. The seals are all fresh. Drivers side door can use an alignment (common problem with these cars). Hood, engine cover, doors, trunk, lights and headlight mechanism, signals, wipers, locks and windows all function as they should. The wheels are also original and the car comes with original tool kit (most of the items are there) and jack assembly.
Interior
The interior overall is in great shape. It is a rich tan leather with black accents and carpets. The passenger side footwell needs a carpet and the rear needs floor mats. The drivers side footwell has some loose carpet as well, but these are very easy fixes. The leather overall is in good shape. There are no tears on the leather. There are some normal marks on the rear seats giving it a nice weathered feel. Gauges all work perfectly as do the power windows.
This car is an awesome drivers car. The current owner has had it for roughly 5 years, has driven it sparingly and is selling to restore his other Dino which he hasn't been giving much attention to. Please ask any and all questions. Do not bid if you are not ready to buy. The car is available for viewing any time and the owner has clear and free possession of the California title. Again, this car is being sold AS-IS. It is an older Ferrari, but has been taken care of thoroughly. If you want something perfect, this is not the car for you and you will need to pay double or triple the price for a car of that caliber. I welcome and encourage any inspections prior to purchase and can be available any time to show the car to you. Don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding or auction ending. If you need any other pictures, let me know and I will snap them for you.
