Car description

This is a very rare U.S model Ferrari Dino 246 GT. Ferrari did not build very many Dino's for the U.S. market. Numbered 02938, his 1971 Dino 246 GT is an original us-delivery car, irst owned by Ronnie E. Rogers of Ocoee, enn. According to Ferrari's history of the car it was shipped to England in 1980 and the unit was calibrated to Kilometers. In 1990 it was sold VIA auction. During the 2008 year the Ferrari Dino was restored and color changed to the very stricking silver and black livery. The vehicle Runs and drives great, irtually flawless in presentation. Vehicle has also Daytona seats and power windows. Dino 02938 marks an outstanding example of Ferrari's first and highly influential series of mid-engine road cars.

Standing tall from introduction among the most beautiful automobiles ever conceived, he Dino sports car was an inspired offshoot of Ferraris V-6 racing program of the 1950s and 1960s. Immediately successful, he first Vittorio Jano-engineered Dino V-6, amed in honor of Enzo Ferraris late son Alfredino, owered Ferrari to its first Grand Prix Manufacturers Championship and Mike Hawthorn to the drivers title in 1958. Further development resulted in the 1961 World Championship-winning 156 F1 and the 246 SP sports racer, erraris first mid-engine car and the victor at the 1961 Targa Florio.

Planned use of a V-6 in Formula 2 and looming FIA homologation requirements for 1967 demanded series-production. To ease the burden for low-volume Ferrari, partnership was forged with FIAT to build the engines, ith the launch products being FIATs Pininfarina-built Dino Spyder debuted for 1966 and the Bertone-bodied Dino coupe from 1967. Ferraris eventual V-6 road cars were rooted in Pininfarinas Dino 206 S Speciale styling exercise first shown at the 1965 Paris Salon, ased on a 206 SP race car chassis. Increasingly refined developments figured prominently on the European auto-show circuit over the next several years. The first production Dino, esignated 206 GT, ebuted at Turin in 1967, eralding the first mid-engine production car by Ferrari and the launch product of its new Dino brand. Just 153 were produced.

The definitive 246 GT arrived in spring 1969, ith public introduction that autumn at Turin. A power boost to 195 hp was achieved with an enlarged 2,418 cc engine, ow made of cast iron. Body shells were now mainly steel. Capable of startling performance and excellent handling, he 246 GT swiftly earned accolades. Nearly 2,500 were built. The Targa-roof 246 GTS debuted for 1972 and was produced alongside the GT through July 1974. Throughout their production run, he 246 GT and 246 GTS were steadily developed, mproved, nd built along several series. While small in number, he 206 and 246 were exceedingly influential, ith Ferraris V-8 road cars, ncluding the 308 and 328, ontinuing the Dinos basic styling cues and layout through the 1980s.
