Car description |

Up for your consideration is a very nice mechanically and cosmetically restored 1958 EDSEL CORSAIR 2 DOOR HARDTOP.
The 1958 EDSELS had 2 major platforms. The Ranger and the Pacer shared the FORD platforms as did the the Bermuda and the Roundup sharing the FORD station wagon platforms. These were known as the JUNIOR platforms.
The Corsair and the Citation were known as the SENIOR platforms and were based on the larger Mercury platforms. The cars were generally fully optioned out. They came standard with the E475 engine and the Tele-Touch automatic transmission which was an extra cost option on the Junior series. These cars were larger and wider than the Junior series.
The car I have has had major mechanical overhaul including the engine, transmission, rear end differential unit. front suspension, steering components, steering power cylinder and brakes. Car has a rebuilt carburetor. Unit has new fuel gauge sending unit. These repairs are supported by picture and documentation that was supplied to me which I will provide. It appears by the photos that this was a frame off restoration. The car appears to have had paint work performed. I have checked floors and trunk areas for rust issues, none found. I have checked body panels with a magnet looking for previous repair, none found. This car starts right up and the dual exhaust sound great. Glass in good condition.
This car was a show winner in TWINSBURG OH (2010). This car was equipped with a aftermarket "parade" cooling system which features an extra fan and thermostat sensor in radiator core.
This car is one of 3,312 manufactured
