Car description |
---|
One of only 2781 of this top-line Citation series made, this was the 100th Edsel off the line in the Los Angeles plant - the last one to open and the first to close. Second line of data plate reads: 63B JL-K-20H-4-A. This early Edsel was delivered to a Western dealer in time for "E-Day" (the nationwide marque introduction date, 4 September 1957).
Many rare options -- **PW, power seat, dual exhaust, Edsel hang-on A/C**, plus the most expensive dress-up trim package (some pieces not shown, incld. four deluxe "spinner" wheel covers). Runs & drives strong - this is a FAST car! Currently registered; VA title in my name. I have owned it since 2012. Moving, not enough garage space at destination to accommodate.
**Rebuilt Teletouch A/T system** w/new relays, motor, and heat shield.
**Rebuilt Treadle-Vac** PB unit. Orig. 410 CID V-8 was refreshed just 50 mi. ago with 2 new pistons and rings, all valves & seals, rebuilt fuel pump and generator. Intake manifold & both heads were planed & gasketted. **Prof. rebuilt carburetor.** Newer belts, hoses, ign. wires, battery, P/P/C, regulator, and filters. New rear main seal and tranny inhibitor switch.
All external lights & signals work. Front suspension parts were replaced as required; **brakes overhauled**. New shocks and fuel tank. Four decent blackwall radial tires. An Edsel A/C compressor goes with the car. Newer gray carpet w/heel pad. Dash switches were replaced as needed.
**Have all trim to finish.**
Front floors were expertly rust-repaired years ago, and I touched them up with 'glas; rear & trunk floors were good. Hood is from one of the Lemon Grove, PA Edsels. There is the Edsel-average amount of bondo in the wheel arches, and some foam behind the rockers. To replace those, ** I include** a NOS set of heavy steel rocker panels that dry-fit like a glove. PS system was deleted by original owner (!), but the car steers pretty lightly without it and I have never missed the lack of road feel the old systems provided, anyway.
Needs: An interior (all panels are present to serve as patterns); padded dash and headliner (existing one is of non-orig. *red* vinyl); exterior needs stripped & painted; one vent and two side windows replaced; A/C hooked up.
This will make you a good #3 driver and will sure turn lots of heads on the road!
