Car description

1964 Dodge Dart GT Convertible 2dr V-8 273 cid.

This car would make a great anything daily driver restoration etc. Runs and drives but needs some TLC. I bought this car almost 14 years ago and drove it to local car shows and cruises. Its fun to drive and gets a lot of looks. I could never take this car anywhere without someone wanting to stop and talk about it. Most of these had a slant six. This is the 273 V-8. Nice classic Mopar for not a ton of money.

Mechanically I didn’t do much to this car. I made some upgrades which I’ll list below. I believe this car was all original when I bought it. It is very solid. Three of the quarter panel have rust and looks to may have had some repair at some time in its life. Beside that the rest of this car is almost rust free. Motor does burn some oil but has always started and ran well. Top has about a 6 inch tear that isn’t through. Its just the outer layer. See pic. Other than that good shape I believe original. Hydraulic open and close. Brakes ok I would upgrade to a two reservoir master cylinder. The car has most of what you would expect from a survivor over 50 years old.

Sorry car is very dusty. Stored in a climate controlled garage. I started it drove it out took pics put it back.

UPGRADES I made in the 14 years I had it.

Recovered front seats. (rear seat is original)

New rear window

New carpet

New trunk mat

Radio

New gas tank

Hub caps are Ford. Sorry Mopar guys. The originals are in the trunk.

The following is a paragraph from the Hagarty web site. In my opinion describes this car well. The windshield in this Dart is not cracked or chipped.

#4 cars are daily drivers with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect and perhaps the fender has a minor dent. The interior could have split seams or a cracked dash. No major parts are missing but the wheels could differ from the originals or the interior might not be stock. A #4 car can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 car.

Car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction.
