I am the second owner of this rare 1971 1/2 ton Power Wagon short bed pickup with 78772 miles and has all of its original body panels with the exception of the bed floor and parts of the floorboards which I repaired. The short bed version is getting increasingly difficult to find especially in this kind of shape in fact I have not seen another like it for sale in years. I bought the truck from a 97 year old friend of mine and she has been in possession of it since it was new. I have the original bill of sale owners manual and warranty card as pictured which adds to its pedigree and all come with the truck to the winning bidder. The truck was sold originally at CURT & HAL Dodge Boys in Caldwell Idaho for $3790.40 on January 23 1971. The truck runs very well and starts right up every time. All the gauges work. I replaced the bottom seat cushion with a cushion out of a modern pickup but the rest of the seat is original with the exception of the seat cover. I do have a nice black original seat out of another pickup I would consider selling to the winning bidder but the original seat in this truck was green and for an authentic restoration it should be recovered. The tires are in very nice shape. Don't let the tailgate condition scare you. This truck came from a very dry region and the tailgate had been off the truck and used to cover an irrigation valve with the bottom sitting on the ground which caused it to fill with dirt and dust it may have also hauled salt licks for cattle years ago which may have have helped cause its current condition. This truck is not rusty with the exception of the tailgate but I saved it because it is the original gate the truck came with which after 49 years is significant. I replaced the bed floor due to the dents and from damage caused from hauling things over the years. All four of the bed floor corners are the originals and are solid. This truck ia very solid throughout and attracts a lot of attention. The patina is spectacular. There are many small items for the new owner to give some TLC but the truck can be driven daily as is. 1971 was the very last year of the Sweptline Power Wagon. Please read the vehicle condition portion of this auction before asking questions but if you don't see the info you need I'll be glad to answer any question you may have. I have reduced the reserve and the buy it now amounts on this truck.I will store the truck for up to 45 days for the buyer to arrange for pick up. The buyer is responsible for all costs of shipping but I will facilitate meeting the trucking company for pick up during daytime hours only. I can also recommend a very reliable transport company based out of Chicago which is the only shipper I use due to bad experiences with other shippers in the past. I have many other pictures available and will e-mail them to bidders upon request. The truck is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
