Car description

'68 Dodge Coronet RT old school drag race car. this is a real R/T not a clone and has been a racecar for most of it's life. It was originally a Gold metallic color. the current paint job is 30+ years old and has some minor scrapes. scratches and nicks as pictured. The body is very straight and solid . The only rust is some minor bubbling on the back of the trunk lid. The car spent most of it's life in California until I brought it back here about 2 years ago. It used to run at Fremont. Sacramento and Sears Point Raceway. I believe the engine block is still original to the car. it's stamped D440HP and the motor still fires right up and runs very Strong! It was last raced 10 years ago at Sears Point and ran in the 10. 90's at around 121 mph. I have the timeslip to prove it. The heads are closed chamber 915 castings that were professionally ported by Gromm Racing are they are stamped by them. The motor has a forged bottom end. Moroso oil pan. Weiand tunnel ram . with twin Holley 750 double pumper tunnel ram specific carburetors. a big solid lifter cam. ductile iron adjustable rockers. Direct Connection valve covers. DC tach drive electronic distributor. DC aluminum water pump housing. with electric Moroso drive. MSD 6AL ignition with rev. limiter. 2" primary headers with 3. 5" collectors and collector extensions. Barry Grant 280 fuel pump. fuel cell. 10 point roll cage. should be good down to 10. 00 et's. New aluminum radiator and electric fan. Painless switch panel. The car was professionally backhalved. tubbed and setup with a narrowed 8 3/4 Chrysler rearend with ladder bars and coil over rear. It has a spool with 4. 56 gears. aftermarket axles. and drum brakes all around. TCI 727 automatic transmission. with reverse manual valvebody . aprox. 3800 rpm stall converter. Hurst shifter. and a line lock. It has 32x14x15 Hoosier drag slicks and there is room for more tire. 15x14 Centerline wheels. 15x3. 5" up front with Moroso front runners. It still has it's original dash frame with original WS23 VIN tag. fender tag is long gone. . It would not be hard to put it back on the street as it also has a clean CA title. Fiberglass lift off hood. the rest of the car is all steel. The windshield has a chip. but the rest of the glass is original and in good condition. Please call Alan with any questions at 507-732-4363 / 510-387-9467 cell. Thanks! Must be paid in full within 7 days of auction's end. Wire transfer to my bank or cash in person please. I have the number to a transport company that can ship it in the lower 48 states for less than $1. 00. Sold in 'as is' condition. not a show car. Give me a call if you would like to see it in person Thanks.
