Car description |

On auction block is a very Rare 'Burnt Orange' 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A, 1 of only 989 T/A cars equipped with the four-speed transmission! Note the highly sought after Hurst "Pistol Grip" manual shifter. Satin black hood. 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A's were built to compete for the SCCA's Trans American Sedan Championship. This example has a 340-cid V8 engine with a trio of two-barrel Holley carbs atop an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. "Six Pack" carburetor's give a 290 bhp rating but true output is near 350 bhp. Feeding it air is a suitcase-size hood scoop molded into the black fiberglass hood. Dual exhaust with chrome-tipped "megaphone" outlets in front of the rear wheels. Hurst-shifted four speed like everyone wants! Shifts smooth and nice. Car has original fender tags, build sheet, matching transmission and engine numbers and is True Detroit American Muscle! 50-year anniversary and it looks, runs, and drives great! Car originally had no power steering. We added power steering, but kept all the original pieces and parts if you want to change it back. We installed exact carb replicas, and all original parts retained. For drivability we changed the gear ratio to 3.23 and all original parts were retained if you want to change it back. Previous owner replaced Black vinyl roof with White vinyl roof. Original white door panels and bucket seats with center console. Hood pins and rear ducktail spoiler. Black T/A side stripes with 340 six pack callouts. Rallye Wheels with brand new BF Goodrich TA radial tires. 340 cubic inch Six-Pack motor is linked to correct A833 4-speed manual transmission. Rallye Instrument cluster with tachometer. Car was purchased in 1999 and was carefully maintained and garage-kept in Florida. On display and sale now at Massey-Yardley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 777 North State Road 7, Plantation, FL 33317. If you have questions call Jim Carroll, Dan Elver, or John Falco at 954.327.4000. You won't find another like it! The miles are "exempt" due to the vehicle's age and the odometer having 5 digits. When we bought the car in 1999 the odometer read about 11,000 miles and odometer now reads 20,591 miles. I assume the car has 120,591. Checks must clear bank before vehicle will be released! These cars are becoming harder and harder to find quality examples! Don't miss your chance at this beautiful E-Body 1970 Challenger T/A! Fun to drive and turns heads everywhere. Fine MoPar muscle. Included are shop manual, data book, owner's manual, and original broadcast sheet. Car is available as a private sale, or sale from dealership. We took videos of the car concentrating on underneath due to several questions and requests. If interested in the other pics and videos please email jy1@comcast.net
On Dec-03-20 at 07:51:14 PST, seller added the following information:I was not able to send videos of the car as the files were too long for Comcast. However I posted three videos of the car, mainly concentrating on the chassis underneath, trunk, etc due to several questions and requests. The videos are on YouTube. Please search "John Yardley 1970 Dodge Challenger" and you should find them there. Thanks for your interest, Good Luck! Also another collector informed that the Build Sheet indicates the car came from the factory with a white roof, not a black one as a different collector told me.
