1965 Dodge Dart with around 61500 miles on the odometer believed to be original Of which I have add 1500 of those miles. I purchased this car earlier this year with the intent of keeping it for at least a few years. However, I realized I like driving more then actually working on cars.
I purchased it from a nice lady out of Oregon who inherited it from her mother (seems like in the late 90s). Her mother was the original owner and was her Christmas present new in 1965. This vehicle was assembled and sold in California sold at Sunset Dodge in San Francisco. It spent some time there before ending up in Oregon with the previous owner. Between the late 90s and my ownership it appears to have only acquired approximately 2000 miles or so. The previous owner added a dual exhaust, Crager mags, and repainted the body to the original color. It is believed that the original paint under hood remains. The previous owner sold it due to their little use an desire for a larger down payment on a new house.
It is a lovely car and a nice driver but needs a better home then what I can give it.
Under my ownership:
I have rebuilt the original carburetor and repainted the original two barrel manifold, which is included in the sale along with the original Two barrel air cleaner.
I have added a D4B topped with an Edelbrock 1901 500 CFM AVS 2 carburetor and a summit racing drop base 14” air filter. (Carb is tuned for 5000 ft of elevation and will need to be rejeted accordingly.)
Replaced the fuel pump.
Replaced the distributor gasket.
Replaced the spark plug wires with MSD street fire wires. (Original plugs as sold to me included in sale.)
Replaced the spark plugs.
Replaced valve cover gaskets. (New in packaging Moroso valve cover gaskets and Felpro load spreads are included in sale.)
Flushed the coolant.
New fuel filter.
MSD Blaster 2 Coil
Other parts included with sale:
New water pump and gasket.
Transmission filter, transmission pan gasket, and rear seal.
Original hub caps with what appears to be Original 13” wheels (Factory spare with original or very very old tire and jack included as well.)
Additional Dodge Hood emblem and center crest emblem.
Rear taillight that is intended to replace the cracked one shown in photos but I do not think it would work. It will be included anyway.
Correct cigarette lighter to replace the one currently present.
