Car description |

Stock and original, great running and driving, 1984 Dodge Ram W-350 1 Ton Crewcab 4X4 pickup truck with a 360cid V8, 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission, NP205 transfer case, and beefy Dana 60 axles front and rear. The only deviations from stock are an ancient respray in the original color, Carter AFB 4 barrel carb, and stereo system.
The running gear is particularly strong. It starts right up, idles, accelerates, shifts, and brakes smoothly. The 360cid V8 has a new radiator, starter, plugs, and wires. Also, up front it has new tie rod ends, steering shaft, and pitman arm but steering box leaks. I just took it on the freeway for a 50 mile drive and it did great.
The exterior is in pretty good shape with no major dents and just typical bumps and bruises consistent with use. There is no rust-through anywhere on the outside body panels other than the bed fender lips (outer panels only) which is an easy fix. I've coated them with a rust inhibitor to prevent spread. And one latch is missing from tailgate (it still opens easily via the remaining latch). The original color was Charcoal Gray and it was repainted long ago in the same color. Most exterior lights work.My extra pictures show each body panel in detail.
The interior is in fair condition but from use and not modification. The only non-stock items are the AM/FM/CD player and external speakers (easily removable). All gauges and factory buttons, knobs, switches and levers work except the temp gauge and heater fan. Air conditioning is untested but it's all there. Doors open and close properly (need new door seals) but the drivers door sometimes needs a good tug. All glass is good (1 rock chip on passenger side) and windows roll up and down properly. Floorboards have rust-through which is largely confined to the drivers side. B-pillar on drivers side only also has some rust-through at the base. I've removed any loose metal already. And floorboards are mostly flat which makes repair much simpler.I've coated everything with a rust inhibitor to prevent spread.
This is an awesome truck. It's a daily driver that can be put to use immediately. Again, it starts, idles, shifts, accelerates, turns, brakes and stops very well. Themechanical bones are great and it primarily needs some cosmetic love.Or just enjoy it as the great driver it already is.Plus,it's almost all stock. And the exterior body panels are all rust-free other than the rear fender lips.Vintage crew cab 4X4 trucks that haven't been horribly buggered up over the years are getting harder and harder to come by. My hope is it ends up with someone who will preserve and enjoy it or take it to the next level.
