This is the rarest of the rare! When was the last time you saw a 66' Dodge Dart station wagon on the road? Probably never because I never saw one or even knew they existed (and I am a Mopar guy & a car guy!!
People always say to me when I am driving it, "What is that", "I never seen one", "How many did they make", etc)I purchased this Dart Wagon from a woman who lived in Tennessee a few years ago, and I had fun with it since then. It has 58,000 miles on it (*58,748 to be exact) . When I first got the car, I did an oil change, tune-up etc. *My mechanic said to me while it was up on the lift that the mileage seemed to be accurate judging from what he saw (as did the seller), however I cannot confirm it.The wagon has the original "Certicard" that came with the car with the original owner (see photo), and that you don't see to often. The motor is the famous 225 Slant 6, which if you don't know is indestructible (they last forever). It takes regular gas and gets about 35 miles to the gallon. It has power steering, AM/FM radio with cassette. The tires are new and everything works. It has about 8 feet of storage room in the back (with the rear seat folded down). It seats about 6 comfortable. It has the old style crank handle in the back to roll the window down by turning it clockwise or counterclockwise to roll it up. (People tell me the back of the wagon looks like E.T.I had the transmission completely rebuilt about 100 miles ago (only because it ran a little "sluggish"), and that cost me $1,200 and it still has 2 years left on the warranty and it is transferable!!It's a very cool and rare car to drive and I get looks everywhere I go especially with "Surf Boards" on top (and YES, they are included!)Is it a perfect car? no, it has some bubbling and fading on the paint in some areas, (but looks great especially driving down the road) The drivers door key works fine on the driver's door, but sometimes doesn't open the passenger door, so you have to open it from the inside. There is a separate button for the horn. It has it's quirks, but C'mon what do you expect from a 54 year old car that looks and runs this good that gets that much attention!
I was even written up in the newspaper about the car (See photos)...... Don't let this one get away, and you will probably never find another one like this,
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I live in Long Island, NY. So, feel free to come by if your are local to inspect the car. It is registered and inspected! (And yes we have to be 6 feet apart!) Good luck and stay safe out there!!
