Car description

This is a REAL 4-SPEED ’68 HEMI CHARGER! It is one of only 211 ’68 HEMI 4-speed Chargers built. It is in CONCOURS condition, and a real show stopper!! It was recently dyno tuned by Sharadon Performance, and the engine output is 462 HP with 527 ft. lbs.. The technician, Larry, said that this is one of the very best running HEMIs that he’s worked on. After the dyno tuning, he then installed a new Center force clutch to handle all of the power. This car has been restored to be easy to maintain, with a ’70 block with hydraulic lifters, and a hidden electronic ignition module to replace the dual points in the distributor. This is a VERY FUN CAR TO DRIVE!! It does require that some race gas be mixed with the non-oxy premium pump gas. I have lovingly cared for this car for the last 13 years. Collectors consider it to be one of the most sought after muscle cars, and definitely a real American Icon. I truly hope that the car remains in the USA. This ’68 HEMI Charger is in concurs condition, and is a real show stopper. Shortly after I purchased this car, it went on to win FIRST PLACE, as well as the Paul Zazarine Award at the Muscle Car Classic Show. I have continued to improve on this exceptional car each year that I have had the pleasure of owning it. According the included build sheet, I have installed the correct HEMI rims, tires, and mirrors, had the dash and gauges restored. This HEMI Charger in not only incredibly beautiful to behold, it’s a real thrill to drive! A blast from the past that’s truly a BLAST to drive! The factory options on this ‘68 HEMI Charger R/T include: HEMI engine, FOUR SPEED TRANS. with HURST SHIFTER, Power steering delete (for MORE POWER!), stripe delete, and black vinyl top (for a STEALTHY APPEARANCE) made for a great street racing combo.. The 3.54 Dana Sure-Grip rear was likely upgraded to 4:10 by the dealer, for street racing, plus heavy duty brakes for strong stopping power. The 5 speaker 8-track stereo is ready to play the collection of tapes that are included, including the original SOUNDTRACK FOR BULLITT! Shoulder belts, and the Tick-Tock Tach. complete the package. Non-original items: the sage green exterior paint and the green and white interior have been upgraded to beautiful black. Must see! There is a hidden electric fuel pump that saves a lot of starter wear when first filling the two massive 4 barrel carbs.. There is a standard fuel pump in place that works well, if desired, for judging events. As mentioned, there is an electronic module in place of the dual points hidden in the distributor. The stock clutch has just been upgraded to a more effective Center Force clutch. The engine has hydraulic lifters. Unlike a numbers matching car, this car can be DRIVEN! If you, unfortunately, did destroy the current sweet HEMI engine, this car comes most of the parts to build a replacement ‘68 HEMI engine. I’ve been told that the replacement HEMI is correctly date coded, and would be a numbers match for the car, as Dodge didn't start putting the car's serial numbers on the engines until '69. There is a complete parts list with pics. available. The car also comes with a California HEMI Car Cover and a beautiful custom show board. I have recently fully serviced the car and replaced ALL fluids. It’s ready for some FUN OUTINGS!!Vehicle WarrantyThis vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
