Car description |
---|
1958 Dodge Custom Sierra 4 door “Spectator†9 passenger station wagon with rear facing “Observation Lounge†third seat. Rare from factory optional D-500 361†V8 with four-barrel carburetor, along with power steering, power brakes, tinted glass and power tail gate window. Beautiful mostly original Southern California car, just out of 45-year dry storage since 1974! Thorough and complete mechanical refresh/rebuild on this only 89,000 original mile wagon. Factory original paint and trim, interior has factory correct recovered seats and new carpet, the rest is original; door panels, headliner, dash, trim paint, etc. Runs great and drives beautifully, with rebuilt front suspension, new shocks, new belts and hoses, completely rebuilt brake system, rebuilt push button Torqueflite automatic transmission, rebuilt power steering pump, rebuilt generator, rebuilt starter, re-cored radiator & rebuilt water pump, re-sealed gas tank & rebuilt fuel system, rebuilt carburetor, and replaced exhaust system. This amazing Dodge wagon was sold new at Downey Dodge in Downey California where it remained with one family being driven until 1974 and then safely wrapped up and stored for 45 years. It still has its original factory paint and while it has some flaws, this wagon has a wonderful original patina. It has solid floors and minimal rust being only on the road for 16 years in dry Southern California. Original owner’s manual, paperwork and many service receipts from the first 16 years on the road, as well as recent mechanical work. It’s an amazing original survivor that has resurfaced to be enjoyed and appreciated all over again!
