Im finally selling my baby. Ive got too many projects piled up and this one needs a new home where someone has more time than me.
The awesome: I managed to get my hand on one of the ridiculously rare JDM 6 speed transmissions for VR4 and put it in this thing. The transmission itself is in great shape. It shifts cleanly with no grinding whatsoever. And although its a bit worn now I do have a factory 6 speed shift knob on the shifter as well. The good: The engine was rebuilt and remachined by me in a full service engine machine shop. Cylinders were rebored, valve job redone, block and heads were resurfaced and its been running great ever since. That was all done about 30k miles ago. Since I had the option the heads were port matched and polished while I had them off and I machined it for larger valves. It has a reconditioned ECM. The original one had a capacitor fail and stop firing one of the coils. In troubleshooting this, it also wound up with new coils and ignition module.New rack and pinion installed. That was done maybe 10k miles ago. I swear I'm not doing that swap again haha!New alternator maybe 100 miles agoHalf a set of new injectors 1000 miles ago. They are aftermarket but I have the original injector cores and the remaining half set of new injectors.I also have several parts that will be included in the sale if youd like them. I have a spare starter, flywheel, and performance injectors (750cc I believe). Theres other odds and ends too but nothing huge. Just ask after the sale for the extras because I'll no longer have a use for them. The bad:It needs new shocks. The passenger rear is pretty bad, still very driveable though. Minor hail damage across the car. Although it does take a bit of studying to notice its still there so it needs to be mentioned. The AC does not work. Theres some sort of blockage in the line and it blew out a plug on the AC compressor. It needs an alignment and tires. The tires have some miles left but will need to be changed in the next 6-9 months I'd say depending on how much you drive it.The audio situation isn't great. Someone had subs wired in at one point and messed up something to the point that only the passenger rear speaker works. I poked around some but couldn't find a reason for it.Drivers window is broken. The plastic guide for the cable broke and is preventing the window from moving should be a simple fix if you can get the part.Minor rust at the corners of the wheel wells. The seats and the steering wheel need to be reupholstered.Lastly, the power steering pump whines. No functional issues, just noisy. That about covers it. Its a reliable car that I drive often. It still drives and pulls well except the issues mentioned. It would be a good car for someone that wants in a turbo Stealth for relatively cheap or for someone that wants a JDM 6 speed in a car to fix up. If needed, I would have no qualms about driving this car across the country to get it home. What you are buying is a very driveable project car.
The car is available to see if you're in the Kansas City area.
