Car description |

Own this nearly complete, numbers matching 1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440 project car without breaking the bank.
Imagine what others will say about YOUR Mopar when she is fully restored to her glory. Imagine taking this beauty to car shows and showing off your work!
So, with that picture in your mind, lets figure out how to get it in YOUR driveway.
I acquired this car about a year ago through my business. Before I go any further, I want to say up front that while I am a car guy, I am in no way a Mopar expert. If there are any errors in my description as to original equipment or anything of that nature, it is not on purpose as I am relying on information I have accumulated through research and talking with other Mopar guys. Heck, this thing was retired to the garage before I was even born.
So here is what I know about it. When we got it, it was in a shed where it appeared to have been for a long time. The condition of the sheet metal supports the fact that it has been stored indoors most of its life. The Oregon plates that are on the car were last registered in 1978, which would have made it 9 years old. Our assumption is that when the front fender damage occurred, it was parked and hasn't been driven since. The original instrument cluster is with the car and showing 78k miles, which would be accurate miles for a 9 year old vehicle. We did verify with the states of Oregon, Washington, California, and Arizona that this car had not been registered anywhere since 1978.
The 440 engine is in tact, but it is missing the radiator, (1) Holley carburetor, air intake, ac compressor, and some minor miscellaneous parts (battery, distributor cap, etc). Pictures of the engine stamp, block casting date, and transmission VIN stamp are all included in our picture collection (link below). The block VIN stamp is behind the header but we were able to see a couple of the numbers that matches the VIN of the car. In addition, the block date stamp is dated about 90 days prior to the production date of the car, which is the appropriate time gap between block casting and vehicle assembly. Everything that we have seen proves that this car is full numbers matching. It does not start and I can not speak to the condition of the interior portion of the motor.
Since the 1969 Charger RT did not come with a factory Six Pack, it is obvious that those components were added either by the dealership or the original owner. It has 2 of the 3 Holley carburetors and the Edlebrock headers. The hood has also been modified to accommodate the air intake for the six pack and there used to be decals that say, "512 ci"
The exterior is in really good shape aside from the passenger fender damage. The sheet metal is very solid on the whole car. There is only one spot on the top side of the passenger rear quarter panel that has rust through the metal. The trunk pans and interior pans are all solid. The frame under the car also appears to be in solid shape. The rear bumper and original tail lights are with the car. The drive shaft is missing. Also, the exhaust headers have rust through on the lower end.
The interior has been fully removed but most of the pieces are loose with the car. The main pieces that I know are missing are the front seats and any center console it may have had. The dash, instrument cluster, rear seat, door panels, lots of hardware, and most of the chrome trip pieces are all there.
The glass on the car is all in excellent shape with no cracks.
I have over 125 hi-resolution photos in a Google Photo Album here:http://pictures.buy69charger.com
The car is currently stored indoors in Bellevue, Nebraska and is available for inspection by appointment. We also welcome 3rd party inspectors if you choose to go that route. All inspections must be done prior to auction end. The car is also for sale locally and on other online sources, so we reserve the right to end the auction early if an acceptable offer is made.

Update 9/27/19 from Questions Asked:
- I do have a clean and clear Nebraska title in hand
- If you want to make a "Buy It Now" offer, send that offer to me through the Ask Question in the ad. I'm not disclosing the reserve or what I want for it, so make your best offer.
- There has been suggestions that the F 440 stamp indicates an engine from 1970. I've included a picture of the block casting stamp, which is from late 1978. The car was assembled in March 1969. Everything I've seen leads me to believe this is the original motor (transmission has been 100% verified) to the car but I would suggest that if this is highly important to your bid, please come inspect it in person or send a 3rd party to verify for you. I have nothing to hide with this car and want the listing to be as accurate as possible.
- If there are questions I have not addressed, don't hesitate to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability.
