I am at the point of needing to sell my 1966 Dodge Coronet. It has been a project for a number of years with good results. The Good: It has a non-numbers-matching 440 RB big block V8 bored . 010 over with stock heads. runs very well on 91 or 92 octane pump gas. Hughes Performance 727 Torqueflite. Holley 750cfm 4 barrel. Holley Street Dominator single plane intake. electronic ignition. aluminum radiator. high volume oil pump and has never left me standing on the road in the past 5 years. I replaced some sections of floorboard that had rusted through so the pan is solid now. The 440 and rebuilt 727 Torqueflite only have 15. 00 on them! The Bad: It runs extremely strong with ton of torque when not suffering from a bad head gasket (suspected – not a guaranteed diagnosis). A few months ago the head gasket has started leaking coolant into a cylinder so it is a backfiring and burning some coolant (white exhaust smoke). It still has the usual suspects rust in the rear 1/4s. running boards. 2”to 3”holes under the taillights inside the trunk (rest of trunk is solid). some localized surface rust. needs interior work (headliner. door panels). and has a few quirks (fuel gauge quit working. manual toggle switch to operate electric radiator fan needs replaced). The Bottom Line: This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so the high bidder will WIN. At this starting price. I hope we all realize this is a project car and it should be expected that work will need to be done. There has been a lot of that work done already but still a lot to do. I honestly have $12K into the car over the past 5 years and will be losing a large amount of sunk costs. The car fires up very easily and is running but I would NOT drive it any distance with it backfiring as it currently is. Resolve the engine issue and it will be a 420hp torque monster once again with some body and interior work to do. The Disclosures: There is NO WARRANTY of suitability. or merchantability implied or explicit. This car is being sold AS-IS and WHERE-IS.
