Car description |
---|
I have owned this truck for nearly 5 years now. I searched long and hard for an original in excellent condition and this truck is all that. Reluctantly I am putting it up for sale.
To my knowledge I am the fourth owner of this truck. It originated from an Idaho dealer (first owner resided) and then spent time in Washington State (second owner). The third owner (who I purchased it from) bought it at auction and sold it to me. I had it shipped to the east coast. The truck comes with a Washington State (clear) title
My mechanic said this truck must have been garaged its whole life based on the condition of the original (yes original) paint and lack of rust. There is absolutely zero rust on this truck (aside from surface rust on the drive shaft, etc. which you see on factory vehicles). The underside is super clean and there are even some factory labels on the frame components. I have put less than 1500 miles on it during my ownership and have kept it garaged. I take it off the road from Oct-May each year.
These trucks were not known for keeping their paint. It tended to fade and flake off which speaks again to the fact that this truck was well cared for and garaged.
This truck is a rare find. It's the first year they made the 360 magnum engine and they only put it in the D250 model in 1993. Many of the 250's came with the Cummins diesel so a magnum is a rare find. It's the last year of the square body style before switching to the newer generation style. The last year they actually put real bumpers on trucks! It also has the 4 speed automatic with overdrive and is loaded with as many options as you could get at the time (A/C, Cruise, Tilt wheel, Electric windows and locks, power mirrors and premium sound system, sliding glass window, two tone paint).
I started the truck up this week after it sat for nearly 12 weeks. It starts on the second revolution and aside from the nice rumble (it has a turbo muffler) it does not knock, tick, smoke or squeak. The engine bay is pristine (see pictures).
The transmission shifts very nicely and the O/D lockout functions as it should. The brakes had been done recently before I bought the truck. The truck steers fine without wandering or shimmying. The oil pressure is very good and the coolant temperate holds steady. The transmission temperature holds steady and runs normal.
The interior is in great shape with no odors. The seat is perfect so I put the cover on it to preserve it.
All of the electrical components work as they should. The A/C blows cold.
The truck is 100% original with the exception of the following items. The wheels (Cragar), Tonno cover, Reese hitch and rear air bags were all added by me. I towed my travel trailer to Maine and back twice (it tows great). The trailer brake control and transmission temp gauge were added by a previous owner.
Here are the few minor issues with the truck. Oil weeps slightly from the transmission pan. I suspect a filter replacement would resolve that. The headliner cloth sags slightly (common for these trucks). The windshield is original and has its share of tiny chips here and there. The windshield has one bullseye on the passenger side out of view and passed NH state inspection fine. The passenger side mirror chrome is scraped (see picture). There are a few minor dings here and there in the body as to be expected for a truck of this vintage. As stated earlier the paint is original which adds to the trucks vintage appeal. With that said the paint is not perfect. It has chips along the front of the hood and the top of the hood is slightly weathered over the years. There is a small crack in top of the original chrome grille.
Please email me with any questions you may have. I will entertain all offers that are not insulting. I can assist loading the truck or take it somewhere local for shipping if you coordinate. If you are local and would like to view and drive the truck please email to set up a time. I will accept a deposit of $500 in Paypal and hold the sale for 3 days awaiting final payment. Final payment by certified check, money wire or cash. All funds must clear before I will release the truck. I can store it for up to 2 weeks while pickup or shipping is coordinated.
I have described the truck thoroughly and to the best of my knowledge. Due to the vintage of the truck I cannot guarantee or warranty the truck in any way. I must sell it "as is where isâ€. If you are looking for an original truck of this era, I am confident that you will be happy with it.
