Since 2008, Joseph Carroll from Best of Show Automotive and later RK Motors and Dave Salvaggio from Salvaggio Design have collaborated to produce some of the finest Dodge Charger Pro Touring machines on the planet. Combining the best classic styling with old school muscle and modern, upgraded components, this incredible 1970 Dodge Charger R/T pro tourer is their latest and final build. Starting with a rust-free Arizona Dodge, OEM sheet-metal was massaged front to back. With that canvas fresh, multiple... coats of PPG Grigio Pearl Metallic were accented with bumblebee stripes and buried in glossy clearcoat. Inside, Steve Pearson of Upholstery Unlimited supplied the hand-stitched, vented leather seats. New high-grade carpet bridges Dyna-mat with a factory wood-grain console and pistol-grip shifter. And the driver spins a wood-finished wheel around a restored dash, an updated HVAC system and modern Pioneer head unit. The heart of this Charger R/T is a brand new Indy Cylinder Head 500 Wedge V8. Balanced and blue-printed, this power-plant produces 575 dyno-proven horsepower, with an equal 575 ft./lb. of torque. Behind that wedge motor, a Keisler-modified Tremec TKO500 5-speed, with a Quick Time bellhousing, makes quick work of shifts. Out back, a Moser Dana 60 axle utilizes 3.54 gears to put power to the pavement. Around that thoroughly upgraded drive-train, an equally capable suspension supports RMS 1.25-inch tubular control arms, heavy duty rod ends and Afco double adjustable coil-over racing shocks. And a set of 18 and 19-inch Fiske 3-piece wheels are wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Built by the best for the most discriminating muscle car fans the scene has to offer, this Charger is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the rewards of a world-class pro-tourer without endless calls to vendors, builders, and banks.
