This beauty is one you won't find anywhere else! With at true 426 8cyl HEMI under the hood! Orginal engine was the 318 but it was replaced to match the performance of the Super Bee of 1970. It is a magical piece of history! You must see it in person to appreciate the beautiful quality! VIN Decodes as: W - Dodge Coronet (''B'' body), H - High (price class), 23 - 2 door hardtop, G - 318 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder ''LA'' engine (this was replaced with the 426 HEMI), 0 - 1970, G - St. Louis, Missouri (assembly plant), The remaining six digits indicate the sequence number (serial number).
This project started with a 1967 Street Hemi which was removed from a 70 Superbird.I was looking for a ''Hemi''chassis but could not find one that was reasonably priced. This car was orginally sold in Cheyenne,WY as a Coronet 440,318 with a manual 3 speed transmission with a column shift. It was B5 blue with a white vinyl top.The car was parked in a salvage yard in Cheyenne and last taggged in 1975.The vinyl top was deteriorated around the rear window and caused a rust condition around the window that allowed water to enter the trunk compartment causing the trunk floor and lower quarters to rust. The rusted area around the windows were cut and repaired. The lower quarter panels were replaced as well as the trunk floor pan.The front and rear floor pans were solid and are original.See attached pictures with the addtional comments.
