Car description |

1978 Dodge Powerwagon 4x4 14000 miles. With dealer installed in dash AC. The original paper temp tag is still behind the seat. The purchase date and dealer info still on it like it was yesterday. No owners manual has been found at this time. The 2005 inspection sticker shows 13400 miles. truck is now at 13900 miles.
Purchased new here in Charleston Wv and owned by a father then passed down to the son.
The son passed in January and this was part of his estate being sold.
The original red sun fire Paint shows very nicely with a few minor scratches chips and dings. This truck has not been detailed only washed. The bed floor is nice and not beat up but does have some scratches. The discoloration of the bed floor is sand that leaked from bags that were in the bed. Like I said this truck is pretty amazing in its un-detailed condition.
No rust ever and paint is 100% original. The grill and body side mouldings are very nice and have NOT turned milky with age. Front bumper does have a couple extra holes drilled in it for the brush guard that was installed when new. There are a couple stains on the front bumper from the brush guard that should clean right off. New capped carriage bolts have been installed in the holes since pictures were taken.
The brush guard and half length running boards are included with the truck.
The door jambs are like new with no rust.
The interior is very nice with only a little fading on the door panels and a small rub on the drivers side seat edge about an inch long.
The seat is very comfortable and the foam has not deteriorated it still sits like new. The dash is clean with little to no wear. Carpet is in great original condition as well. Original white bed cover still in nice shape. But could use a scrubbing.
Under the hood could use a quick detail. The original fan belts are still under the hood for spares. The 318 engine runs nicely as is but as all this era 318s it could use a performance tune to bring it to life.
The chassis and under side of this truck is rot free as well. And in the fashion of the 1980s it has had multiple coats of black paint sprayed in the fender wells and frame rails over the years.
Though with its low mileage there is some staining underneath from I'm sure the dirt road to deer camp but no dirt buildup anywhere.
The mechanicals are in great shape on this truck with very little that has been replaced over the years. The original brake shoes still on the truck which are shown in a picture focusing on the mopar star embossed in the shoe.
New White spoke wheels were installed for that 70's look along with new mud terrain tires. The existing tires were like new but they were installed 27 years ago on the original white spokes no dry rot but probably not safe for long. They are included as well.
Overall this is a very nice original truck that has been loved by a father and son since new. Always garage kept and started/Drove a few miles regularly to keep things working. I did drive this truck 30 miles on the interstate, it is very quiet and solid with no rattles or bangs.
