Car description

This 61 Pioneer was a low mileage car that was begun getting customized in the 1970's by John Pazsik, a very well know NJ customizer, for George Wallace. He began his career in the 50's and had a national award willing 54 Mercury Kustom. The Dodge was slowly worked on, weekend at a time, by John, during the Kustom car revival. It was never finished, and eventually abandoned. It was found in a garage, in early 2000, and repairs done, and eventually finished. Most original custom work was retained.Modifications to the body include: Nosing and decking, shaved door handles, molded in lake pipes, scooped roof, shortened side trim, hand made tube grill, sunken 53 Buick tail lights, and tunneled antenna. Astro Supreme wheels, with pin whites. The paint is the highlight. Done in "Larry Watson" 1960's style, panel painted, in White Abalone Metalflake, and custom Mixed Candy Fuschia. Paint and body by "Customs by Flash". With Gold pinstriping. Paint does show age, some road chips, but looks great overall.Interior has 64 Chevelle bucket seats, upholstery is done in Pearl White and Fuschia Zodiac (metalflake) vinyl. Black carpeting.Mechanicals: Original 318 Poly engine, and auto trans (push button). Front converted to Chrysler 5th Ave. disc brakes. Lowered, dual exhaust with Brockman MellowTone mufflers. Air Conditioning. Converted to Holley 4 Bbl carburetor, and late model Mopar electronic Ignition. The car had it's bumpers rechromed at one point, but now show chips and some small rust spots, Pipes and wheels also have some rust. The car has been driven to car shows, and has wear and tear. It is NOT a perfect show car. Some bodywork show signs of rust under the paint. Interior window moldings were chromed a long time ago, and also show age.The Dodge has been shown at Sledscene East, in Gettysburg, PA, Lead East in NJ, and has appeared in magazines, and even books ("East vs. West Showdown, Rods, Customs and Rails" by Joseph Alig and Spike Kilmer, and "Kustom Ideas" by Alan Mayes)
