We are relocating and this truck has to go before I finish it. Very good rig for total restoration or great the way it is. Been here in Southern Idaho always and is the place for rust free rigs, desert country and we never used salt on the roads. This truck is no exception. As you can see under the seat area and floor there is nothing but surface rust. This is an old Bell telephone company truck and on the glove box the decal that is in the picture says " No job to important and no service so urgent that we cannot take time to perform the job safely....BELL SYSTEM..." The motor that is in the truck is not original. It is the 230 c.i. L head but they changed it to a 55 Plymouth PowerFlow 6 that puts out 125 h.p..These motors have light weight aluminum pistons and top chrome rings for longer engine life and better oil control and a lot more get up and go.It is a 3 speed ( 3 on the tree ) transmission. It has 16" wheels and radial tires that are fair to good. After life with the Bell telephone Co. it became a farm truck and later was given to the very young son and the truck was fixed up with bomb can paint. You can see where the paint peels off from just car wash pressure exposing the paint underneath which looks like more than on layer.I'm sure that that helped preserve the truck. I have done a lot of work on the truck including new complete brakes ( master cylinder-wheel cylinders-and shoes ) new muffle, pipes were goo, new glass all the way around with new rubber seals and new channels and sweeps .cleaned and rewired the heater so it works great. All the lights including headlights bright and di, brake lights and blinkers work .The windows roll up and down nice and the doors open and shut good and are tight.Really a pretty tight old truck. The window and door handles are correct, not show but not bad. The old truck goes down the road good and myself I wouldn't be afraid to stick in some tools and take a trip.I bought a new speedo cable that I haven't installed but will include with the truck. Also the heat gauge isn't working but I have driven quite a bit in the hot summer with no problem overheating. The old truck has great oil pressure even after driving and being to full operating temp. The hubcaps are correct and the same but 2 are painted and 2 are chromed. They will match if painted. The windshield wipers are not working at this time but is all there and the arms and blades are correct and good. It does need some more tweeking to make it nice but it has great bones. From my research they only made this B-4B in 1953 making it pretty rare. Not many survivors.
