1957 Dodge D100 Beautifully Restored Low Mile Original Show truck in turnkey running and driving condition. needs NOTHING! 53. 04 original miles. one owner truck. restored in and out; gorgeous! 315 V8 Engine. 3-speed manual transmission. fantastic original hotrod You are bidding on a very special and rare 1957 Dodge D-100 pickup. This was a one-owner local Washington truck since new. and has undergone a complete restoration into the classic retro cruiser you see today. This is truly a turnkey sweetheart that you just get in and drive. you don’t need to fix. change. or otherwise modify anything. This is one of those rare examples where the truck looks even better in person than in the pictures. although I’m confident you’ll get a very good feel for the beauty and finish of the truck via pictures. I want to stress the fact that the miles are actual and original at 53. 04. the history of this truck has been known since new; it was used sparingly as a local run-about until the original owner bought something newer. it was then used rarely to keep it in proper working order until it was restored into the beauty you now see today. It sells with THE original title. dealership paperwork. ultra-rare original glove box paper VIN tag. and owner’s manual. among other documents. The title serial number and glove box VIN matches the frame VIN exactly for export or registration in any state that inspects such things. Now. on to the truck: Rare to begin with. this is the high-line Custom model featuring the large wrap-around rear window. and low step-side bed with the original high-mount spare rear fender. The truck is very straight in all respects; no accidents. major repairs. etc. Original. straight. and solid vintage sheet metal throughout over a super-clean chassis. amazingly low miles. and overall beautiful good looks make this truck a real winner. as well as very unique. The body was taken apart and prepared as necessary for a full and proper beautiful repaint. and then turned over to “the” local hot rod pinstripe guru to add the subtle custom touches inside and out that set this truck apart at any car show. cruise-in. etc. The truck shows beautifully with absolutely minimal body or paint issues. I can’t find a dent on it. The bumpers. headlamp surrounds. and running boards were stripped and powder-coated white for a striking contrast with the green paint. The paint itself is one of those colors that appear as a turquoise blue in some light. and a medium green in other light. I’m calling the truck green. The pictures of the interior dash. and the rear tailgate panel most closely reflect the actual color. in my opinion. The chrome and other associated bright work is in exceptional condition. inside and out. The interior upholstery was completely redone and is also beautiful; the gauge cluster is gorgeous. 100% original. AND all gauges function perfectly. The steering wheel is excellent. and EVERYTHING works. lights. turn signals. brake lights. dome light. speedometer. odometer. fuel gauge. voltmeter. oil pressure gauge (40-50 lbs. !). and even the horn. The seat upholstery is new in a very cool multi-colored thread fabric and white vinyl. period correct. great looking. and suits the truck so well. The truck was so well maintained. The rubber floor mat appears original and is in beautiful condition. laid over a layer of sound-deadening material. The red rubber mat is an overlay to protect the original. and add a little more color to the interior. The glass is excellent all around. and the regulators roll up and down smoothly. All the seals are sound and the truck is water and weather-tight. The heater core was replaced. and treated to a contemporary two-speed fan. which will warm you in the dead of winter if you so choose. And in the summer. the pop-up cowl vent brings in that fresh air that once served as “air conditioning. ” The original and rare top-of-the line optional 315 cubic inch V8 is in perfect running condition due to religious and regular oil changes. new belts and hoses. a new replacement carburetor (with working manual choke). working original generator. rebuilt distributor. and new critical under-hood wiring and components including voltage regulator. coil. ballast resistor. points. plugs. condenser. etc. The paint you see on the engine is “the” original paint. The inner fenders. firewall. and underside of the hood have been restored to match the overall exceptional restored condition of the truck. The dual exhaust system is also brand-new and sounds mellow. just right for the truck; not too loud. not too quiet. The truck starts predictably every time with a minor pull of the choke. Additional recent restoration and custom work began with cleaning and painting the chassis. installing new custom-arched front springs providing approximately 3” of lowering. rebuilding the steering. installing custom arched lowering rear leaf springs. new shock absorbers. bushings. and bearings. The fuel tank was removed. cleaned. and sealed. and re-plumbed with new lines. A full brake rebuild (including working parking brake). and a rebuilt rear end which changed the factory 4. 10 gear ratio to a more road-friendly 3. 54 round out the chassis work and make for a super-smooth ride with a moderate raked stance. No tire rub or other issues associated with “overdoing” a lowered truck. Basically. the entire truck has been gone through from top to bottom and both looks and drives as good as new. The truck looks almost as new underneath. and rides on custom chrome Bonneville Salt Flat style disc wheels and new Toyo radial tires. The wood in the bed was refinished and looks fantastic. Again. this is a truck that needs nothing but an appreciative new owner. The question of rust is bound to come up: NO RUST ANYWHERE save very. very minor blistering under the paint in two very small areas of the hood (second-to-last picture. close-up of the hood. you won't even find iT!). The truck is as bone-dry as physically possible. If the paint was perfect show quality. we’d be talking double the price. The restoration work itself is probably five or so years old now. and still shows beautifully in all respects. It has been used only for cruise-ins. parts runs. picnics. and parades by a local car-club enthusiast. and always parked indoors out of the weather.
