For sale is a 1968 Dodge Charger RT. This iconic model car has been completely dismantled, body rotisserie massaged, upgrades completed, and reassembled in the striking original color combination of red and black, incredible finish, hood picture has a cloud reflected!! Car's original 440 heads and steel crank were used with period correct/date correct block, bored 30 over and balanced. Comp cam, early Edelbrock aluminum intake as well as new Edelbrock carburetor, with original non silenced air cleaner restored. Polished ceramic Dougs headers with polished ceramic 2 1/2" exhaust system utilizing original Charger tips replated. Car's original 727 transmission was rebuilt, stall converter added. Period correct positrac Dana 60 rearend equipped with 3:50 gears. Wilwood braking system added, Ridetech a-arms, Ridetech shocks, Eaton rear springs, correct for BB Charger and upgraded sway bars. Interior is a combination of rare original pieces in place, Redline gauge upgrade, original courtesy lighting option, and reproduction interior components. ALL stainless and chrome are original Mopar products professionally restored to better than factory plating. Wheels are US MAGS "Rambler" 18 x 9.5 at rear and 18 x 8 up front with B.F. Goodrich tires. The Mission in building this Charger was to remain loyal to the oath of OEM originality, utilize as many NOS parts, restore parts as needed and upgrade certain components to be more modern in performance and handling. Original cast iron intake manifold, cast iron exhaust manifolds, original 8 3/4 rearend, original front sway bar, and owner's manual are included. Underside of car is show quality, it has approximately 50 miles logged. Project has been completed for approximately 3 years, garaged/covered. This is not a low grade restoration with intent to flip, rather a quality build with extreme attention to detail, part of private collection. Competitively priced, definitely not cheap. No trades, project underway. Third party inspection is welcomed, a PayPal deposit of $1000 is due within 24 hrs. of auction closing, balance within (7) days via bank wire. Additional items included with sell: Original starter to car rebuilt, original alternator to car rebuilt, original wheel well mouldings restored, stretch satin California car cover, and original wiper arms with blades restored and installed. Questions concerning gauges, they were restored by Redline and clock has been converted to quartz. ALL trim is original Mopar including restored taillights. Body panels replaced were the (2) quarters, trunk pan, outer/inner wheel wells and package tray. ALL other body components are original including, rockers, aprons, floor, roof, pillars, fenders, trunk lid, and doors. Fit and finish is perfect!
