This Squad 51 Replica is something I had wanted to build for a long time. It wasn’t possible until I found the right donor truck. I finally found the right on a couple years back. This is a 1991 Dodge D300 dually that I found from the original owner. This truck spent it’s life in Arizona as a University of Arizona maintenance truck. The miles are correct at under 22,000. This truck had zero rust. Nothing. Not even surface rust. This truck was also fleet maintained so it was in perfect running condition. I literally had to do nothingto the engine or drivetrain.
Once it arrived here in my shop we had the truck glass beaded to remove all of the original paint and primer. We went right down to bare metal and prepped everything the proper way. The correct 1972 grille and headlights was sourced and custom installed. Also sourced was a rust free correct 1972 “birdbath” hood. Both of these items are crucial to making this a true replica. All body and paint work was done by a professional body and paint man that has painted show cars that were $30,000 in paint alone. No expense was spared on the body and paint and it shows. Even the inside of the cab was completely repainted. The interior of the cargo body was fully cleaned and the inside of the doorswere painted the correct grey.
The only thing not done on this truck at this point is the lightbar and siren need to wired up. That’s it. I just have not had the time do it yet.
Correct decals were custom made to the specs of the original LA County Fire Dept.
The correct lightbar was sourced and completely refurbished.
The correct radios were sourced and installed.
Period correct gear for the bed was also sourced.
The engine is 360 fuel factory fuel injected engine that starts every time. It has a four speed manual with a granny first. The truck is all stock mechanically and even has AC that works!
This is a great show truck and is tons of fun at car shows and parades.
I am open to reasonable offers. I will assist with shipping but the cost is the buyers responsibility. This is for sale many other places so this listing can end at any time.
I hate to part with it, but I am about to begin building a home in New Hampshire and really need the cash at this point. Asking $24,999 or best offer.
