Car description

What you are looking at may be so rare that some of you may not have ever seen one of these. I know that I never had before I saw this one and had to have it. This is a Dodge D350 Dual Rear Wheel cab and chassis that was sent from the factory to be converted into an RV. It is the highly sought after Cummins 5.9 12 valve engine with only a little over 18k miles on the clock. This is the famous Million Mile Motor so it literally has barely been broken in! Searching the internet I've never even seen one just like this one with the cab unattached to the RV coach portion of the rig. That means this could be converted to a standard cab DRW pickup if so desired. I am a fan of the first generation Dodge Cummins Diesel pickups and so this RV was right down my alley. I purchased it about 10 months ago with the idea of going through the systems and making this a family hauler/camper. The RV sat for many years in Casa Grande Arizona and was used by a retired school teacher to take up to the mountains during the hot summer months. The previous owner's health deteriorated to the point where he had to be put into an assisted living situation and so the family sold the RV. When I purchased it it had been sitting for three years without ever being started. I replaced all fluids before ever starting it including dropping the fuel tank and thoroughly cleaning it and reinstalling it. I replaced all hoses and the serpentine belt along with replacing the belt tensioner assembly. Rear end housing was removed and refilled with new gear oil as well and it looked brand new inside. Of course the oil and all filters were replaced as well. New brake booster and fluids. I put a new battery in it and on the first bump this thing fired up and ran perfectly! It has the Getreg 5 speed manual transmissions that shifts through the gears well. The truck runs strong! The paint on the cab delaminated like most of the Dodge trucks of this era but it is the original paint. The previous owner brushed what looks like a white primer on the right front fender as most of the paint had flaked off that fender it appears. There is no rust anywhere on the truck top to bottom. All lights and turn signals work as they should. 7 new tires all around including the spare. Mechanically I'd trust this rig to drive anywhere right now. As far as the RV portion of the rig all systems should be checked out. We never really got to use it for camping because I never had time to go through all the systems. I plugged it into the house and all the lights worked, microwave and the AC worked fine. That was before I hit a tree branch that shattered the AC cover and dented part of the roof top AC unit (pictures were taken before this happened so now there is no AC cover on the rooftop AC). I haven't tried it since then. All the plumbing works including shower and toilet. It has the original Kwyatt 7.0 generator that shows 32 hours on the clock. I have not had time to get this running but did change the oil/filter on it and made sure it was turning over freely but putting juice to the starter. There was a little water damage on the coach around the rear window and the front right corner. I had the rear window removed and the entire rear wall rebuilt and all four corners resealed. The roof was taken all the way down to metal and the best elastomeric roof coating was applied with four coats. New roof vents were installed at that time as well. There are no leaks in the coach now. My attention was going to now go to getting all the systems working normally including the refrigerator, freezer and getting the electrical to work off the generator. The propane works at the stove just fine but I haven't tried the oven or refrigerator. The appliances all look like they were never even used!. I am putting this awesome rig up for sale only because my mother lost everything she owned in the Paradise California fires and we are trying to help her piece her life back together the best we can. Otherwise I would never sell this super rare RV. I would consider it a mechanically sound, drive anywhere project due to the issues with the camper. In the cab the headliner was sagging down badly from sitting so long so I tore that out so it will need a headliner. The AC was updated by a local very reputable shop here in Tucson a few years ago but it does not blow cold so it may need a charge or something more serious but I have not checked into that as it was not a priority for me. Windows all work. Passenger's door lock needs an actuator and you have to manually lock it. Otherwise everything else works on the cab portion of the rig. Wipers are new. I have put about 2000 miles on this since I bought it including two trips to Huntington Beach, California. We used it mainly just to sleep in as they were just weekend trips. When I first drove it home the right front tire tread peeled off the tire as the tires were very old and it knocked the trim piece off the fender. I was going at a very slow speed when this happened so the fender was not damaged at all nor was the trim piece which I have in the glove box. It needs the plastic fasteners to put it back on.I think I covered everything I can think of but I'm sure I missed some things so don't be afraid to ask questions. It's a blast to work on and drive. It gets so many comments when we take it out but the most common comment is "I've never seen one like that before". I will be listing this in other media as well so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time should it sell elsewhere. Check my feedback and check the pictures and bid with confidence. I'm pretty sure you won't see another one like this probably ever, especially with these ridiculously low miles on it. The only comparable one I could find that sold on eBay was in 2015. It sold in Chino Valley Arizona for $12,600 and it had hail damage and 215,000 miles on it and the rear of the cab was cut away so you could access the coach from the cab so it could never be turned back into a pickup if desired. I have photo's of that completed ad if you're interested to verify this. I'll be looking to get a bit more than that for this gem but I'm setting the reserve fairly close to that number. I'm not interested in trades as we need the cash as mentioned for my mother. Good luck!!
