Car description |
---|
You are looking at a 1972 pro street Challenger. It has been under the care of the same owner for the last 20 years. He has decided that he needs some more floor space in the show room and feels this car is the most interesting to perspective buyers right now. I've been involved with the car for last17 of those years and have agreed to help with the sale. I'll do my best to list everything and add a good group of pictures to represent the car nicely, as always I'm sure I'll miss something and or someone will want to see something I haven't pictured so please ask and I'll do my best to accommodate.
Here we go: 1972 Dodge Challenger, back halfed with ladder bars, Eagle coil overs, Strange engineering Fab9 with 4:10 gears, Detroit Locker dif, 35 spline axles, disk brakes, 15x14 Centerlines with Hoosier Quicktime pro 33x18.5x15. Front seats are stock buckets as is the shift console, Gauges are all Auto meter Ultra-Lite. Sound is all Alpine components with two large amps and sub in the trunk. Also in the trunk is the battery, and access to the fuel cell in the floor. Under the trunk is Aeromotive AR1000 fuel pump. As a small aside all the factory Mopar wiring has been replaced with a painless system and everything works as it should. All chrome and trim look great as does the paint. All this is powered by a supercharged 440 that contains the following: .040 over 1969 440 block, factory steel crankshaft, Eagle H-beam rods, custom Venolia forged pistons at 8.5:1 compression. Edelbrock heads, Comp Cams valve train all topped off with BDS Blower with 1:1 drive. MSD billet distributor and 6 series box. Ceramic headers, 3" Flowmasters with factory tips. Engine management recently updated to Holly HP system which fires and fuels this beast perfectly, you can reach in the window turn the key and it starts, runs and idles like a new car. Transmission is a TCI 727 with 2500 converter.
This is a pump gas street car, it was built to be driven and has been. This car is loud and proud, it commands attention wherever it goes. If you were to build this car today from scratch it would cost twice the Buy It Now and you'd wait a year or more to get it. This car is ready to enjoy today, we've done a lot of cool things to it and with it and had a lot of fun along the way. Now it's time for these horses to be in a new stable and for new stories to be made. For what its worth we do not posses a title for the car on account of we don't need one in the state of Maine for anything over 20 years as is the case in most states, however if this is not the case in your state I know there are ways to get through it but feel it is important to note upfront.
I'm happy to work with shippers to coordinate pickup and transport, but buyer responsible for all costs. Winner will PayPal $5000 at close of auction and wire, bank check or cash the balance before the car is released. As stated in the beginning please ask questions and thank you very much for looking, have a great day.
