Car description

Here is another very rare old Mopar. A 1969 Dodge Polara. These cars were the basis for the legendary Mopar Police Pursuit Polara Interceptors. Most of these old Polara sedans have long been rusted. crashed. stripped or scrapped. What few survived are usually a mess of rust and bondo. This Polara is unusual because it has survived in fantastic condition. Sure. its common to find a Road Runner. Cuda or Charger in restored or survivor condition-not the old sedan cruisers. This car was obtained from an estate and I was told and believe that the extremely low miles are genuine. The Polara is still wearing 95% of its original paint. The interior and drive train are all original. Its also significant that this Dodge has no rust around the windows and that everything works! I've had experience with old Polaras and they usually have broken or stuck controls and its rare that any of the gauges work. The controls on this Polara work smoothly. The AC still blows cold with original Freon. The heater is hot and the defroster works well. All the lights. signals and flashers work as do the fender turn indicators. Of course the loud horn works. even the adjustable dome light works as do the glovebox and ignition lighting. The wipers work and all the exterior lighting is as bright as it was when new. Incredibly. all of the original Mopar glass is present and in great condition. If you know these old Polaras. you know just how hard it is to find a windshield. This Polara is an amazing survivor. Not only does everything work. but it drives well too. Many times. a old Mopar may look OK. but drive terrible after a long corrosive slumber. This car starts instantly and cruises well. It rides smoothly down the road and makes a very cool ride for you and five of your friends!I've completed a major tune-up-new plugs. wires. distributor cap. all filters. fuel pump. rebuilt carb and all fluids have been changed. The transmission has been serviced and resealed. Four new H-rated tires are mounted on the original wheels with the super cool police dog dish hubcaps. I also have the full size wheel covers(also in excellent condition) that will be included. The owners manual is in the glovebox and the original spare wheel and jack are in the trunk. I also installed a very expensive mandrel bent. stainless steel dual exhaust system with a balance pipe and new mufflers(about 1000. !) Its probably more than the Polara needs. but I was planning on installing a big block at some point and this exhaust can handle it. It also has the factory type turned downed tips. Other rare survivor items are the original headliner and package tray. These are also in great condition and rare to find undamaged. Most of the interior is also in excellent condition. This car is turn key ready to enjoy right now. Or. install a big block or create a legendary Police Polara clone. Is it perfect? No. While it is an amazing survivor. it obviously didn't survive 45 years with no flaws. The dash has some minor cracking and the driver lower seat has a split. A few pieces of interior plastic are faded. The paint while original. is showing the patina of its age. Plenty of scuffs. scrapes. dings. ight spots and chips in the paint. even though it has great road presence! It also had two minor repairs done to the very lower quarters and that's where the paint was matched. All that being said. this is a great way to enter the Mopar family at a reasonable cost. Offered up at no reserve. sold "as is". Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! I'm also selling my road race Dodge Dart. please check that one too. I never thought I'd sell them. but circumstances and locating my dream car have required it. Thanks.
