Car description

I’ve reluctantly decided that it is time to offer up my 69 Charger R/T due to the fact that I’ll probably never get it done. I would really like to see this car restored, driven andbrought to some great car shows. It is in fantastic unrestored condition and it is 100% complete. As you’ll see in the pics and read below, it is a truly unmolested car that is extremely clean and well preserved.

I purchased the car in the Spring of 2015 from the person who I believe is the second owner. He purchased the car in Sept/Oct 1970 from a dealership in southern California (see license plate pic) and owned it until I bought it. He did have the car sprayed over in burgundy around 1974 or 75. The original paint can still be seen in several places. He also had seat covers installed over the factory covers because they had started to dry and rip. He drove the car regularly until late 1977. He had too many tickets while driving this car and lost his license for awhile starting in late 1977 so he parked/stored the car and figured he’d get to it sometime in the future. I could tell upon speaking with him when I bought this carthat it was always his baby and he never had intentions of modifying or cutting up this car. Unfortunately, he never managed get the car back on the road and eventually sold it to me in April 2015.

The car is a real R/T, 440 automatic trans with a/c, Q5 turquoise. 3.23 rear end. The car has 84,000 original miles. It has a factory replacement shortblock that was installed prior to Fall of 1970. The previous owner that sold me the car had never replaced the engine so it had to have been done before he bought it. The block still has the small riveted tag on the side of the engine block (see pic). It appears that they just moved all of the other original engine components (carb, intake and exhaust manifolds etc.) over to the new shortblock. The car still has the factory original exhaust system and mufflers on it.

The body is in fantastic condition. It is extremely difficult to find these cars, and it isalmost impossibleto find one as clean and straight as this car is. The doors open and close great and the car is straight other than one small dent on the lower part of theleft rear quarter near the side marker. There is no rust issues on the car other than the center of the trunk pan. The previous owner let some water sit under the trunk mat so it does have a couple pin holes in the trunk pan.

Since I bought the car, I replaced a few parts (I kept the original parts) since it had been sitting for 37 years so I could get the car in safe running/driving condition. It does currently run and drive, the engine sounds good and is quiet. The headlight doors and tach still work perfectly. However, I certainly wouldn't call this car roadworthy. I’d certainly replace some of the dry gaskets and hoses if I was going to take it on the road. The car has basically sat in my garage and has been started and moved around my warehouse regularly. I did take it to the MCACN show in 2016 (barn finds) where it was well received.

Replaced parts:

-all new brakes and master

-rebuilt carb

-New tires

-New gas tank, sender and filler neck

-New fuel pump

-replaced belts

-replaced water pump

The interior of the car is still original. Steering wheel and console are in excellent condition. Dash isn't all cracked up or cut up. The seats have been recovered in the mid 1970’s. The original covers are still underneath but are ripped. I did look for the broadcast sheet in the back seat but it wasn’t there. I haven’t looked for one elsewhere in the car.
