I bought this Frist Gen Cummins 3 years ago with the intent of making it a super reliable work truck. I have replaced or rebuilt a lot on this truck with the goal of making it even more reliable than when it left the factory, and also to make it easy to service. You would be hard pressed to find a first gen that has had this much work put into it for the price. The truck fires right up and makes great power.
The truck had some electrical gremlins when I bought, so the entire wiring harness was removed and I had it professionally rewired with a 21 circuit Painless wiring harness. I also had the stock computer removed since it was on the fritz and it controls the gauges, voltage regulator, and AC. The electrical system has been designed to be bullet proof, using relays for the headlights, grid heaters, and AC. AC blows cold. Since the stock oil pressure and temp gauges need the computer to function, I have added autometer gauges on the pillar. I also installed a blue tooth head unit with upgraded speakers so the sound system is great. I added a 110v AC receptacle on the front bumper which is connected to the block heater so you can easily plug it in over night if you live in cold weather. The winch is a Warn 10k lb that works.
As for mechanical parts, the following has been done to the truck since I owned it:

The injectors and injection pump where done in July of last year. I have less than 7k miles on the truck since I had Ultimate Truck Performance in Oxnard CA handle the installation of the pump and injectors. I spent $2800 on the pump and injectors alone.
The turbo is stock, but this truck will pull down a house. It cruises down the freeway no problem and since I did the upgrade it has plenty of power to spare.
Has 4.10 gears front and rear. Rear axle is also a posi / limited slip.
This tuck will not win any beauty contests, but if you are looking for a super reliable truck that is a work horse, this is the truck for you. If you have any questions please ask. Selling the truck due to divorce.
