Please read everything below. No reserve. I'll let the community decide on the value Welcome to the auction for my 1968 Dodge Coronet Super bee. This car has the stock 383 Magnum engine (Code H: 383 4bbl V-8 w/ 335 hp) and according to the Fender Tag was originally a 4 speed. I will try to address as much about the car as possible and have provided a wealth of pictures of the car & all the parts included with the car. Odometer says 50800 miles. I'm note sure if has been rolled over but I've put less than 500 miles since buying it in 2004. This was a partially restored car when I bought it in 2004 & I put over $30. 00 into it trying to make into a perfect time machine. Almost all the mechanical was restored between 2004 & 2010. There are less than 500 miles on the rebuilt engine. The body is fantastic with NO RUST (the previous owner did all the bodywork) & The paint looks fantastic but is not show perfect as there are a few chips & scratches. This is a great car for anyone with a little know-how and/or budget as I am including almost all parts you need to finish the restoration. including immaculatly restored interior parts (dash cluster. pads. all guages. etc) and many more. The car itself isn't missing anything. these are all duplicate parts I sent out for restoration and am including in the auction. Please note. the car has been in storage since 2010 & the battery is dead (alternator was ok the last time the car was started). Because of the length of time in storage it will require a once over to get safely running again. Most of the pictures are of the car before going into storage. but I will also include pictures of the car in storage. taken in Dec 2014. Time in storage has affected things like the white lettering on the tires & I want to be accurate. I live over 50 miles away from where the car is stored so it's been hard to keep up with maintenance over the last few years. Make sure you scroll down below the information. there are pictures of everything including most of the parts included! I purchased the car in May of 2004. I purchased it as a turnkey driver and my intention was to have fun with it as it had always been my dream to own either a Dodge Charger or a Super Bee. The car had been partially restored a few years before I had purchased it and was in good shape but I quickly wanted to make it something nicer. I spent the next 3 years pouring almost all my time and money into restoring this car. I wanted it to be as it was when it rolled off the assembly line in 1968 (Actually the production date on the car is March 19. 1967 in the Lynch Road assembly plant. Because I did not have the entire budget up front. I had to space certain things out. I hired Bob Craven of Long Island's SuperCar Clinic (One of the East Coasts' greatest Mopar experts) to do all the mechanical while I would scour Ebay. classified ads & swap meets for the correct parts to send out for restoration. Supercar Clinic did all of the work on the car including: Engine rebuild of the stock 383 Magnum engine Front disc brake conversion Cragar rims w/ BF Goodrich tires(15") Correct B-Body Exhaust Tips Replace Gas Tank Replace all gaskets Replace all weatherstripping Coordinate All pedals Cam Install Remove any oil leaks or transmission leaks Recode door locks New water pump Adjust door hinges Replaced Push rod in master cylinder New Edelbrock Performer Series Carburator. 750 CFM. 4-Barrel (see below for pics) Repaired the Horn New Fuel lines Restored/repainted the K-Frame New Power Steering pump Battery tray Steering gear box Overhauled front end Installed Electric Ignition system Plus lots more. all the receipts are included with all work done. Remember. if anything was not perfect or stock (With exceptions like the disc brakes and the ele ignition) I wanted it replaced or repaired. Mechnical work done on this car totaled over $19. 00 (all documented and included with car). During the engine rebuild I told them to rebuild to close to stock as possible. I know they added a little power in the process. I will try to answer any questions about the engine I can but I do not know alot about engines. While Supercar Clinic was taking care of the mechanical I became obssessed with restoring the interior to show condition. I scoured every possible source for parts and then sent them out to some of the best restoration places in the country like Just Dashes and Autoinstruments. com. If a part came back not to my satisfaction. I resent it out. Everything that is chrome was rechromed. not painted silver like some companies try to pass off. My idea was to swap out the old interior with a restored one and I never touched any of the parts installed in the car. (this way I could enjoy the car while waiting for the parts to be finished) I purchased an entire dash pad set. entire dash clusters. etc. as spares and sent them out. Unfortunately I ran out of funds to put alot of those parts into the car but they are included with the auction. My restored dash cluster is the nicest I have ever seen and is included (See below) as well as the entire dash pad set (mint condition) & all original. restored bezels. When I had purchased the car. these parts had been newly installed: Seat Re-Upholstered Carpet New Trunk Floor Pans And I installed New Door Panels Window Cranks Restored Rear view Mirror Restored Sun Vistors All the showroom quality parts that need to go in are documented below. I am including everything you need. finished to make this interior MINT. I really wanted to have a spectacular Mopar interior. and all the parts are correct to the 1968 years. I am including the receipts for all the restored parts and they total over $6110. 00 (I spent approx an additional $4000 that I don't have receipts for at swap meets & ebay) The currently installed interior is complete. just not show quality. It has the original non-working Tich Toch Tach and the bezels are showing their age. Instead of pulling these out and sending them to be restored. I wanted to start with the nicest condition parts to begin with (and keep the car running). This is why I have duplicates of so many parts. ALSO. I have an original 1968 Powerbulge hood with hardware (worth over $1500) that the winning bidder is welcome to. if they prefer it over the fiberglass pin on hood. Buyer must arrange pickup or shipping of that hood. (hood is big & doesn't fit in all SUV's. I had to move it in a Tahoe). I can hold onto it for as long as it takes buyer to arrange pickup. Here is a video taken of the car before going into storage (oct 2010): LINK HERE Due to different circustances. I have neither the time or finances to keep this amazing car. At this point. the responsible thing to do is sell the car. Many people have suggested I sell the parts separately but I really want to keep them with the car as I put countless hours in hand selecting the correct parts and overseeing the restoration of them. This is an awesomly cool Mopar that hasn't been altered. Nothing has been modified or hacked to fit aftermarket parts. I have always been a very meticulous owner. The car has never seen any rain since I have owned it and it has spent all its time garaged. I have put very little mileage on it as I reserved it for very special occassions. Known Issues As said previously. it's been in storage for 4 + years & is currently not running. I have a new battery & we could most likely get it started right up. but for safety sake the car deserves a complete checkup before being driven. On trips with lots of stoping and turning the car off I've had to get a jump on a few occassions. seems like starting the car drained energy quicker than the alternator could recharge. With regular driving It has never been an issue but it is something I would look into. Heater works but is disconnected Tires may need to be replaced. they've been sitting awhile and I'm sure how that effects the rubber. Contact me with any questions. I'll do my best to answer them. Important Information NYS does not issue titles on cars this old. The registration is transferable and becomes the title. I will include the UCC Lien Release for the auction winners records. This states that there is no money owed against the car by me. (My loan was payed off in May of 2007) Winning bidder arranges pickup for the car and must let me know what day I need to be there for either in person pickup or if they are having a trailer pick it up for long distance shipping. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end. and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due not later than 10 days of Auction end. If any of these conditions are not met. I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle. sell it to the next high bidder. or sell it otherwise. Payment must be in certified funds. defined as Cash Paid in Person or a Bank Certified Check. Credit cards are not an acceptable form of payment (I will accpet paypal for the deposit). Parts will be carefully bubble wrapped & boxed and shipped in car. If something doesn't fit. I will ship it out to you personally. I've been an Ebay seller since the late 1990's. I've never received negative feedback and always presented my merchandise as honestly as possible. Fender Tag Above is a photo of the fender tag for this car. Below is what I was able to decode and a sample instructional tag on what each of the numbers refers to. I think my decoding is correct. but as it changed from year to year and there is some misinformation out there. somebody with more experience may be able to point out any mistakes I have made. Car Car has been garaged since I have owned it and has never been exposed to rain during this time. Glass is original and in great shape (sorry about the reflections) All the weatherstripping and moldings have been replaced. Awesome Super Bee grill logo. easily removable if desired Car (These pics taken before the Cragar rims. tires & Correct Super Bee exhaust tips were installed) Rims The car was upgraded to 15" Chrome Cragar Torque Thrust Rims and BF Goodrich tires with white logo lettering. This auction includes everything needed to restore the interior to show quality) Seat upholstry is like new Door panels are new The original Dash cluster is installed right now. but the auction includes a complete restored cluster ready for installation. That includes the cluster. bezel. all switches and all gauges being restenciled and calibrated (see below) as well as a brand new tich toch tach & the correct dash cluster medallion (rare) Guages under ashtray are temporary untill someone installs the beautiful restored gauge cluster (below. included in auction). Auction also includes entire restored dash pad set (from just dashes) and dash bezel set. Carpet is in great shape. The currently installed dash bezels are the wrong year (69 was the stone style pattern you see here). The Auction includes an entire set of the correct 1968 dash bezels (horizontal line pattern) in MINT condition (see below) Engine The original engine bay when I received the car. I had the 383 rebuilt by mopar expert Bob Craven (of the now defunct Super Car Clinic). replaced the valve covers & air cleaner with official mopar products. replaced the battery tray with correct reproduction b-body tray. got the horn working and upgraded carburator with an Edelbrock Performer Series (documentation included with car). See below. The is the rebuilt 383 engine with less than 400 miles on it. I had it rebuilt to as close to stock as possible with a slightly larger cam. My knowledge of engines is limited so Mopar expert Bob Craven supervised the rebuild. I could have kept the engine in the condition I purchased it in (it ran well) but I liked the idea of a new rebuild. I will try my best to answer any questions you may have about the engine. Like new Edelbrock Performer Series. 750 CFM. 4-Barrel. Square Bore. Electric Choke. Single Inlet Trunk Trunk was just replaced when I bought the car and is still like new. Correct reproduction Houndstooth Pattern trunk clothe. full spare with matching cragar rim & tire as well as the original. restored correct jack Front Disk Brake Conversion Car on rack during front disk brake conversion Underside front disk brake conversion Storage Pictures (Dec 2014): Car has been stored In a Garage with a Car Cover Current Paint The car had been repainted before I owned it. It was a gorgeous. professional paint job and from a few feet away still looks great. That said. this is an honest auction so here are some pics of the chips and scratches in the paint. 1968 Superbee Parts Below are photos of most of the parts I've collected that haven't been installed yet. Most of them are restored from originals. Like the dash cluster & guages. Some are NOS and others are modern reproduction. Restored 68 Rallye Cluster: Cluster bezel was specific to this year and only appeared in Charger and Super Bee. It was the only year with vertical lines textured into the plastic. as well as the cutout for the Rear Defogger or Convertible top switch. Most clusters or Bezels I see on ebay are missing the switch cover or delete plate. (see below) Clock or Tic Toch Tach was available. I have the reproduction Tic Toc Tach in the cluster pictured above & and an original one in the dash currently in the car. When I do the dash restoration and swap clusters. I will send the original tach out for restoration. (Also. note the medallion between the larger guages. this is another item easily lost and usually missing on ebay dashes. ) Rear Defogger Delete Plate: 68 Bezel was tough to restore because tracking down the delete plate or defogger bezel was near impossible at the time. especially one with all 4 tab inserts in place. I traded a Rear Defogger plate pictured below for the delete plate above. completing the cluster. Getting the core of your cluster restored is a necessity for both the visual impact and the functionality. For a production automobile. the Rallye dash was a super cool racing inspired guage unit. Having it modernized and functioning properly was probably the most important element of interior restoration for me. How this cluster was correctly restored: Guage face restoration: Whether you choose decaling or stenciling. this will make the guages look like new. I opted for the more expensive stenciling which looks gorgeous. original & will never peel. Lens polishing Brake warning & Signal turning indicator restoration:. This involves cleaning or replacing the original plastic. reapplying the text on the brake warning light panel & replacing the foam rubber that cushions the guage bezel. Not all shops offer this. but it is essential in returning your cluster to its original glory. Odometer restoration: Seldom offered. I had to really seek out a shop that would restore and restencil the odometer. Most do not. and a yellowed odometer really kills the look of an otherwise perfectly restored cluster. Guage Calibration & Modernization: Tachs and Speedometers usually require overhauls and are the most costly of the guages to restore. The 4 smaller guages in the rallye clusters usually function. even after 35 years but can require minor repairs. It shouldn't cost you more than $100 to calibrate the 4 smaller guages. Clock Quartz Conversion: This is usually outsourced. so make sure the shop offers this or you will be sending out your clock seperate from everything else. The Tic Toc Tach: This Cluster includes a reproduction Tich toch Tach (this car came with one originally and the original comes with the car as well but it will need some restoration work) It is super cool that chargerspecialties. com reproduces these. An original is worth about $450 (non functioning) so it's a pretty costly part. My cluster turned out PERFECT! The most finnicky aspect is usually the lens. especially if it is heavily scratched. As for the switches. it is usually more cost efficient to find replacement or NOS ones. Keep in mind if you do require switch restoration. most likely you will be sending them to seperate shops for chroming and repair. (Laysons offers an all in one switch restoration service. but everything they restore is outsourced) Dash Pads Dash pad restored by Just Dashes. picture doesn't do this justice. I have the entire set included in this auction. ready to go into the car for a show quality interior. This is the only pad I opened for photos. the rest are still protected in their packaging from Just Dashes. The complete set Wrapped glove box pad Parts: (documented as OEM. reproduction or restored) Restored dash plates from both Layson's restoration and CV Vacuum Platers. Properly rechromed. not painted like alot of home restorations. The set is mint and ready for installation. (There are two dash faceplates. one is allready installed on the replacement dash cluster) Box & Harness for a brand new. Reproduction tich toch tach (installed in replacement Dash cluster). The car has an original tich toch tach installed as well but that will need to be restored Original B-Body AM radio in great condition. Never tested by me. Restored. original front bumper round light housing. The other on is installed one the car along with the OEM lens cover Complete set of replacement trim.
