NO RESERVE!!! BID TO WIN!!!
RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!
Up for sale is my 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 2 door Hard Top. The car is a matching number, factory big block 330 HP 383 car w/ Factory Air Conditioning. The transmission is a 727, 3 speed automatic. She is also equipped with power steering and variable speed wipers.
Dodge did not stamp VIN numbers on theirengine blocks until 1968.What proves the engine to be original are the following facts:
- Engine casting date is 3/30/1965
- Engine install date on pad next to distributor is 5/14/1965 (Also stamped "HP"- see photo. "A" indicates 1965)
- Vehicle production date on fender tag is 5/20/1965 ( "520" at the lower left corner of the fender tag is the production date- see photo)
This is a fairly rare Mopar. Dodge only built 4,704 Coronet 500s equipped with the 383 in 1965, and most of those were not equipped withfactory A/C.
Being a 500 model, the car came from the factory with bucket seats and console with floor shift. The car is mostly original and unmodified, with only 1 repaint. As stated, this is a factory air conditioned car, and the system is complete, but it is not currently functional.
I've recently installed new tires, new fuel tank, new fuel sending unit, new metal fuel line from tank to pump, new fuel pump, and new starter relay. I've also rebuilt the original Carter 4BBL carburetor. Thecar is equipped with dual exhaust, which has obviously been replaced at some point, since it has a cross overor "H" pipe installed to improve performance.
The car has lots of torque and is really fun to drive, but she's not perfect. She is nearly all original with just under 115,000 miles on her. The engine leaks some oil and so does the transmission. The radiator is original and also weeps a bit.I just check the fluid levels once in a while and enjoy the car as is.
The car has been repainted and the paint and body work are driver quality. There is some fillerin the lower fenders and quarter panels behind thewheels. Some of the chrome could also use attention. The passenger compartment floors and trunk floor are clean and have no rust.
Clean Colorado title in my name. Car is garagedat my home in Peyton, CO, just North West of Colorado Springs.Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I can make myself available to meet a transporter and assist in any way that I can.
**To aid you in negotiating a better price with a transporter, I am also willing to store the car for 30 days, covered in my garage, until you can arrange transport, provided that the car is paid for within 7 days after the auction's end.Generally speaking, the more time you give a transport company to pick up a vehicle, the lower the price they will charge.**
This is your opportunity to own a rare, early muscle car that is already weekend-car-show worthy! As I said, she's not perfect, but she can be driven and enjoyed as is, and is definitely a car you will be proud to own! The car goes down the road extremely well, and feels extremely solid.
I wouldn't be letting this one go if I didn't need the $$$.
The final bid is the winning bid, so PLEASE feel free to ask any questions or request any photos of any areas. You are also welcome to schedule a time with me to inspect the car in person. This car is being sold at NO RESERVE, and I want her new owner to be happy with their purchase!
I require that the winning bidder pay a non-refundable deposit of $500 within 24 hours of the auction's end. The remainder is to be paid by certified cashiers check or cash in person. The car will not leave my possession until full payment has cleared. There will be no exceptions.
The car is advertised locally and on other sites, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
Thanks!
