1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Auto Restoration Project - Numbers Matching Running
Car is in overall good shape for its age and is mostly original. It is an original 440 automatic, non A/C car. Unfortunately I had a small accident, so the bumper and grille are damaged, but intact. Front fender isn't bolted on, and needs some more work above the wheel well to be perfect. I got discouraged after getting it back from a body guy and let the car sit. There is some rust in the rear quarters, dutchman panel, and trunk. Top has some pinholes under the vinyl. However, this car is not a typical B-body rust bucket and has been in Montana, Utah and Arizona. Frame rails, rockers, floors, etc are in good shape. Bolt in subframe connectors were added, and I believe they are Mopar Performance. Engine currently installed is not original to the car but I do have the original, numbers matching engine. Original engine is disassembled, but is very complete and still standard bore, has original intake, carburetor, etc. Previous owner did not want to hurt it, but wanted a well built 440. Motor is loaded with Direct Connection and Mopar Performance parts as I bought this from a parts manager at a Dodge dealer that had the car since the 80s. Motor does run well and has a TON of power, but could use a fresh set of gaskets. Interior is in good shape. Seats were recovered and carpet was redone, but everything else is original. I have the original build sheet, fender tag, etc. This is a great restoration project, I just don't have the time or means to give it what it deserves. I did not run the accident through insurance, so the title is still a clear, Arizona title.
