Car description

Please read completelybefore bidding!! This is a SWEET 1968 383 automatic Dodge Charger with power drum brakes and factory AC. It is notconcoursbut a VERY,VERYNICE driver orperfectfor weekend car shows. This is an ALABAMA car, so there is not a title as Alabama did not issue titles until sometime in the 70s. There will be a bill of sale, I currently have it registered with the state DMV. The engine is a 383 bored .030” over. Professionally rebuilt with factory header style cast manifolds and factory dual exhaust. The intake is an aluminum aftermarket MOPAR four-barrel intake with anEdlebrockcarb. It has the original mechanical transmission kickdown linkage. (I did fabricate a new rod to match alignment with theEdlebrock, but looks like factory.) The ignition has been upgraded to MOPAR electronic ignition for trouble free starts and low maintenance. The transmission and rear end have been rebuilt as well as all the brakes. Basically, everything mechanical in the drive train was either rebuilt or replaced including fuel tank and lines.Thisisa straight, rust-free body. The rear quarter panels, trunk pan and rear floorpanshave beenreplaced. The typical rust area around the rear window was also replaced with metal. Frame is rust free and solid. There is one slight impression in thedriver'srear lower quarter panel, but you probably wouldn’t notice unless pointed out. (see picture). The best I can tell, it has never been hit. All the spot welds in the under-hood area look original. The trunk lip number matches the front core support number. It has the original front grill. It does have afewcracks but does not show. The painthassome fisheyes on corner of rear deck lid. The vacuum headlights work great! The AC does not work but the compressor and filter drier have been replaced and converted to 134AFreonandhasa slow leak. I do not have theequipmentto sniff the leak. The vacuum doors/ductwork need some work under dash. I even found a NOS heater control valve that is specific to the 68 Charger and installed it. (New units are not available.) It has three speed wipers that work, but motor sounds like it needs some lube. Windshield washers havenew pump and work. For the rest, I will let the pictures do the talking. If you are a serious buyer, please feel free to call me. If I am at work, leave a message, I will call back on lunch or in the evening. I work 7am – 5 pm Central M-F.
