Car description |

...Yes, I do have a clear green title for this car in my name.
As if finding a good, buildable 1968, 1969, or 1970 Dodge Charger isn't difficult enough, try finding one that has it's Original numbers matching 440" engine??. ...Well, here it is!!!
When I stumbled across this car, it had been sitting for 35 years in a barn in Georgia. (...That is until I rescued it for a restoration.) -The original engine was outside of the car, waiting for a rebuild. Unfortunately, after bringingthe carhome, I have since decided that I really don't have a place to store or start disassembling this Great American Classic Mopar. ...Therefore, here it is:
Up for your consideration, is a Numbers matching, 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, 440" V8, automatic trans, Great American Muscle Car! -This car comes with it's original 440" V8 engine, and still retains it's original fender tag too (BONUS!). The transmission looks to be original too, but I haven'tconformed those numbers yet. ...and Yes, I do have a clear green title in my name.
BODY:
All of the body numbers match the title: Door sticker, fender tag, drivers side trunk gutter, core support, and Vin tag.
Thesheet metaldoes have the typical Mopar rust issues, but both of the front and rear subframes, andtorsionbar mountare in verygood condition.
The carwill need a new trunk pan. The interior floors pansappear to be in respectable condition, but appear to beneeding a couple small patches. I believe that the front fenders can be saved, as well as the doors. The driver's side rear quarter panel has been poorly repaired at some point many years ago and should be replaced, but the passenger side quarter panel is very fixable in my opinion.
The front grill assembly is in remarkably good condition. All of the stainless trim is present. The fender tag is still with the car too. This was originally a vinyl top car, so expect the typical rust issues on the roof skin. The rear valance should be replaced. The trunk lid is respectable.
INTERIOR:
The front bucket seats, buddy seat, and back seat are all present. The woodgrain steering is still on the column, along with the shifter and ignition keys. The rallye dash gauges, switches, and even the Factory A/M Radio are still in place.
I removed the old carpet to show the condition of the floor pans. The interior will need new carpet, new headliner and seat skins (...remember it is 48 years old).
DRIVETRAIN:
The Original numbers matching 440", V8 engine is on an enginestand. It does comewith most of the original parts, but they have been removed for rebuild: Crankshaft, heads, rockerassemblies, pistons, rods, intake manifold, etc.
The 727 automatic transmission is still in the car (along with the drive shaft). The rear end is an 8-3/4, but I'm not sure of the gear ratio. It also has the 11" HD drum brakes on all 4 corners.
PLEASE NOTE:
I have 2 sets of wheels available for the car. The winning buyer will get their choice of either set they like with the car. (Only 1 set of 4wheels will go with the car.) -I installed 2 of each style wheel on the two sides of the car for demonstration. One setare magnum 500 style road wheels, the other sethave"dog dish" caps on plain "steelies" wheels.
OVERALL:
As I mentioned before, finding a good, buildable 1968, 1969, or 1970 Dodge Charger with a solid frame is difficult enough. Finding a "plain-jane" 318" small block Charger is even harder. ...However, finding a real 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, that has it's Original numbers matching 440" V8 engine is a real rarity!
From an investment standpoint, the value of the 2nd Gen Chargers only continues to rise, making this car a great investment, even if it is to be stored as it sits. This car will also make a great Father/Son/Daughter/Grandchild project, or restore or restomodit to your liking.
