Car description

1955 Dodge Coronet never left California which has kept the car in really great condition. Always garaged.
It's quite rare to find a vintage automobile in this condition, and with an automatic transmission.
This particular car genuinely has 110,000 miles...and when you see it, you'll believe it.
Quite honestly it was owned by a sweet old lady who left her to us at 90 years old. True story.
The lady's name was Betty and so we have referred to this beauty as "Betty".
She has been garaged or in the high desert all her days and you'll see how well that has protected "Betty"...the car not the lady :-)
This car has been well loved and well cared for.
She starts right up and drives like a dream. Smooth and easy.
The Dodge Coronet is a beautiful mid-sized car, not a land-yacht and not a small car. Easy enough to drive and park in today's world.
I'll break down the details into sections that might answer your questions but feel free to call if you'd rather.
~~~ Aesthetically ~~~
Body is straight and unaltered. All the chrome and trim is there and in great condition.
The paint is the original pink and white color and is in great condition as well.
The interior is a work of art. An homage to a bygone era. Chrome everywhere and the details in every detail is amazing. Look at the interior pictures and you'll see what I mean. Check out the climate control lever and the automatic transmission shifter. It is obvious that this is in original condition but it's in very good condition for the year. Drive her as is or perform a concourse level restoration.
Everything inside works including the radio!!
The headliner is perfect as is the carpet.
The back seat is perfect and the front has a small rip on the passenger side (that has been patched)
The steering wheel is original and is beautiful.
The door panels are all in decent shape.
I think the only thing that doesn't work properly is the lever that opens the vent on the hood in front of the windshield. It might just need some lubricant on the cable.
There are 10 pieces of glass on this car. A beautifully curved front windshield and curved back window. There are 2 wing windows in the front and then 2 more wing windows in the rear. And then of course the door windows. All are in great shaped save the driver's window which has a crack but operates just fine as is. Genuinely an easy fix but seemed unimport. I love the rear wing window. Very few cars have ever had these. All the turn signal lenses are present and in decent shape as well.
That's all the good stuff. There are a few rust bubbles but nothing of significance. Drive it as is or you could go big and make everything perfectly perfect which would make the car worth a lot more.
It's not pristine but she's in great shape. But then again, the price isn't astronomical either.
Overall, for the age it's really very impressive.
~~~ Mechanically ~~~
The car runs perfectly. Starts easily and drives smoothly.
The extra large steering wheel makes it easy to maneuver.
It's a solid and heavy car and feels great on the road.
The battery is nearly new.
The widewall whitewall tires are brand new. ($1000 in those alone)
Brakes are decent but it tends to pull a little. It might just need to be driven more or have the brake slave cylinder (caliper) rebuilt. A cheap and easy fix.
The transmission shifts properly and smoothly.
All lights work.
Wipers work.
And even the original tube radio works!!
There a link to a video below that shows the engine running. There's also a video that shows the exhaust pipe demonstrating that the engine is firing properly and not "missing" on any of the cylinders. Video links below.
Overall, mechanically it's awesome.
