1967 Dodge Dart GTS Big Block 383
This beautiful and rare "H" code car is a very nice restored / partially unrestored factory original car. The exterior has had one repaint of the original color and the door jambs, trunk area and under the hood all have very nice original factory paint. In 1967 Dodge decided it was time to put a Big Block engine into a compact car for the first time ever. A big engine in a small car made for quick street car! It wasn't until late in the ‘67 production year that they actually started to build them so ONLY 457 Big Block 383HP Dart GTS’s were built that first year. And, only 228 of them were automatics like this one!
This car is rust free with original factory sheet metal. Dodge did not start stamping the cars VIN number on to their engines, transmissions and car bodies until 1968. So for vehicles 1967 and earlier they are considered "numbers matching" and correct when they have date coded parts like this one starting with the 1967 383HP engine to the #543 727 console automatic transmission, the #929 Big Block A-Body radiator, the #4299S 383HP 4bbl carburetor, the #741 Sure Grip rear end, the original A-Body big block exhaust manifolds, the #893 oil pan, the correct #'s intake manifold, distributor, wiper motor, voltage regulator, unsilenced air cleaner, date coded wires and more! The engine compartment is detailed and beautiful. The interior is almost entirely factory original and in excellent condition. In the trunk you will find original paint and no rust along with the spare tire, the complete jack assembly, the divider board and even the original trunk mat! The underside of the car is unrestored and rock solid rust free and you will find a date coded reproduction new dual exhaust system. It also has the correct factory simulated mag wheel hub caps, redline radial tires, factory front disc brakes, 3.23 suregrip rear end, beautiful chrome, trim and glass, a beautiful Black vinyl top and more. The car is straight, the gaps look great, everything operates properly and it runs, drives and sounds excellent.
This car is super clean and it is well sorted out. It’s documented with it’s fender tag and broadcast sheet. With so few ‘67 Dart GTS 383HP Big Block cars being originally built it is very hard to even find one, much less one in the condition this car is in! It is unlikely that you will see another ‘67 Dart like this one ever.
