Car description |
---|
This is fully restored 1970 white TA challenger, its believed to be 1 out of 33 made, and 1 of 1 with the louvers and no vinyl top. The car has 50 miles on the restoration. We have over 100k in receipts, without the purchase of the car.
Numbers matching motor and transmission. We have the original built sheet and all the documents. Took 7 years to restore.
The interior is 100% original, except for the carpet, seat covers and head liner. The dash is 100% original so is the rear and front door panels. The dash is original to the car. So is the counsel and all the trim.
Full blue printed motor! The engine was super tuned. The carbs were built and tuned by Promax. We went with billet Promax metering blocks. On the Dyno after the motor was built, it pulled off 415 HP, with 450 TQ . We have the dyno sheet and video of the run. The cam is 272 duration, .474 lift. This cam is a standard cam that came in stock 340s, in 1970. It works extremely well with the carbs. Instant opening, no bogs. Instant!
We did not want the stock de-tuned .440 lift cam, the motor was de tuned from the factory. We decided to go with a standard stock 1970 340 cam. The motor is 100 original to the car, it is numbers matching, with the original numbers matching transmission.
The X block 340 with its fast burn heads is one of the best motors ever engineered, ever. It really out performed on the engine dyno. It made more power than a 2002 Ls6 Zo6 motor with a 550 inch lift cam. And it did it, with a stock style .474 lift, 272 duration 1970 style 340 camshaft. It really impressed us.
For the motor, we used Mahle light weight forged pistons. We choose this, because of the expansion ratio, its very minimal with these pistons. In our opinion, nobody on the market even comes close. We had bad experiences with pistons in the past. Making knocking or ticking noises, not with Mahle! The pistons also have a high temp heat coating on the side skirts.
We would like to mention this car never had rust or a panel replaced, full original quarters. It was a very low mile car before restoration. We are the third owners, we bought it from the second owner, who bought the car in 1974. The stock odometer was in the low 30k mile range.
The front disc are original to the car, cut once, we cut them.
We decided to use new bolts for the front clip, but we have all the original bolts saved and stored. This car is an original car, and we have all the original parts. All of them.
The radiator is also original, but we re cored it, and put a 4 core in it. So it can be driven anywhere without worrying about heating problems.
The little details on this car has to much to list. For instance the gauges were rebuilt by reline, the K member is powder coated, the brake lines are SS, the paint is sickens, the lower control arms are the correct gold, but we had them boxed. We also used slightly larger than stock Mancini torsion bars. The car handles very well! The rear leaf springs are stock, and are in perfect condition.
The paint is amazing! The paint on the car is a work of art. No expense spared! The bottom of the car looks as good as the top.
We wanted a stock car, but with little touches that would not be noticed, to improve it's performance. We wanted to bring the best out in this car. And we believe we achieved our goal. How it was supposed to be from the factory.
The car is very quick, the slap stick works well, 6000 rpm shift points are no problem. Can actually go to 6500 rpm if you wanted. It feels more like a 440 six pack honestly, but without the heavy nose. The car is very quick nimble and tight. No disappointments.
Again, too much to list, no expense was spared, we have all the receipts, just call me, and I can tell you about the car.
