Car description |
---|
1967 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible with a numbers matching 383 4 barrel automatic. This car is a great driver and would not take much to make it a show piece.
Mopar 383 big block completely rebuilt this summer with around 1000 miles on it (receipts included).
Rebuild includes the following:
- New Keith Black flat top pistons
- Rings,
- Crankshaft (balanced)
- Intake valves
- Oversized and hardened exhaust valves,
- New valve springs
- MTD2 hydrolic camshaft,
- Hydrolic lifters,
- Roller timing chain,
- Heads pressure tested and bored,
- Valve guides honed,
- Bored and honed cylinders .030" over (4.280),
- Balanced lower end,
- New cam bearings,
- Hot tank connecting rods,
- New rod and cam bearings,
- New Edelbrock 650 cfm 4 Barrel Carburetor with Electric Choke.
The engine was carefully reassembled by myself (have pictures).
The car also has:
- Brand new BF Goodrich Redline tires,
- New brakes (front disk with double master cylinder),
- Rear drums and shoes,
- New control arms and bushings,
- New tie rod ends,
- Ball joints,
- Pitman arm,
- New Flowmaster Dual Exhaust,
- New Gas tank and Sending Unit,
- 3.23 posi-rear,
- Front and rear bumpers professionally re-chromed,
- New convertible top.
Floors and Frame are solid.
Interior has new front and rear seats, new door panels and carpeting.
Items worth noting. The exterior of the car is fairly straight - however - there is some body filler in the rear quarter panels and doors. Not noticeable but you will see slight imperfections if you look hard enough. Additionally, the previous owner had the car painted and although the paint shines great (car was completely wet sanded and polished) there are imperfections with the paint. It is not the original paint nor the original color (Red Poly QQ1) but fairly close. The previous owner also decided to change the color of the interior from red to black. Although it looks great, the black paint on the doors and dashboard could use a little attention. Radio not connected (I do not need it) and wipers don't always stop in the home position. All other electronics (few as they are) work as they should.
Engine runs smooth and flows through the power band as good as you can get these. Kickdown works as well as it should (at wide open throttle) - will pull you back in your seat. This is a great powerful fun and fantastic car that starts every time. A lot of work and money has gone into this car and although it is not perfect, it would not take much to make it a show car. Clean B-Body cars are getting harder to find.
