Car description

1972 Dodge Challenger- READ ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE BIDDING!
This is an original 340 automatic car.
This car is now a pistol grip 4 speed, converted long before I got the car.Another odd thing is it has the SE formal (small) rear window. Took me two years to find the interior molding for that and had to pay up for it.Non-matching numbers engine and transmission. It is a 1970 340 engine in the car. Higher compression than 72.Odometer shows 36,178 but no idea how many car, engine or transmission has.
I have had the car about 5 years.Long story short as possible. This is not a show car. It is very nice, but not perfect by far.I was trying to make a nice daily driver out of the car. I am not a body man. I sanded the car down, mostly to metal. I then somewhat block sanded and took to bodyman to do vinyl top, finish and paint. This was done in his garage, not a shop. He did not finish the bodywork as supposed to do. As far as I can tell he just painted, though he said he went over it. The car has some waves on several panels. The paintwork he did was actually pretty nice. The top is nice but not perfect. He left one small corner about 1/8 inch short of trim. Has a few small areas glue is not holding firm. Anyways, he wouldn't make it right and said that is what we agreed to and that the paint job and top was all I paid for. I didn't pay enough for bodywork also.It is a single stage paint, with a very good shine. Color is GM Victory Red. This was done in 2013.I took the engine out, put in new oil pump, cam, lifters carb and intake. I had heads done at local machine shop. They are a J head.Bore looked great. Block was clean. I put back together and ran great.New clutch and pressure plate installed.New headers and exhaust with tips.
Has 255/60/15 BFG's on rear and 215/60/14's on front. Mopar Ralleye wheels.
The car will roll. Only bad known as far as running is the car will pop out of third gear sometimes under hard acceleration. Starts right up and sounds awesome. Good lope and deep sound.
Has new dash woodgrain panel, has pioneer stereo with Infinity speakers.Has Go wing.New front bumper and very nice rear bumper.Could use hood hinges.
Drivers seat has a little wear on side, passenger seat has a seam seam ripped in seat, back seat is very nice. Door panels nice. Dash has a couple small cracks but ok. Ralleye dash and The clock even works!
The body was very solid. The trunk does have a little fiberglass in it, but it is not completely ate up. Floors are great! There is some bubbles of rust starting in the lower part of the passenger rear quarter in front of the wheel well. There was a fiberglass patch done here. Top was very good for a vinyl top car. No rust at all when new top put on.
I have tried to describe as best as I can. All of the repairs were done in 2013 and I have probably driven the car 100 miles since, if that. I just don't use it at all.Drive it as is, or do your own restoration. Very good car, reasonable reserve.I hate to sell it, but have another car in mind that hopefully, I will drive.
Sold as-is. Clean Virginia Title in hand.
