Car description |

For auction is this fast 1962 Dodge Dart 440 which is ready for the track or the street. Sleek and mean sleeper was rebuilt with a 400 Chrysler Big Block motor from Hughes engine builders with bored 30 over pistons and 9:1 compression. 727 Torque-flight automatic transmission and a 2800 stall converter. Has a posi-traction rear end along with new fuel tank, sender, radiator and water pump. New dual exhaust sounds low and mean- straight pipes with glass packs. This car started life as a 4-door and was professionally re-configured as a coupe, but is almost impossible to tell. Has some of the 440 badging removed for the drag strip circuit and sports newer thick 275/60/15s in the back on NHRA tall studs and 205/60/15s on Torque-thrusts in the front. The car has an analog tachometer mounted on the dash. Has manual brakes and steering. The car was originally a glossy black but a previous owner scuffed the whole car to make it look meaner and leaner- its an attitude by look and stance.
The interior has been professionally installed and has dual bucket seats with new upholstery, door panels and headliner. A small corner in the top back of the headliner is coming out due to being tight, but it is hard to see. Very deep and plush bucket seats and nice period style cut pile carpeting. The car starts right up and runs well- a very fast car. I like the car but as I am only a cruiser type of guy, this is a lot of car for me. I figured maybe someone with deep pockets wants a street or drag racer? If not, I am glad to hang onto a rare Mopar like this. Has an open and clear title.
Please ask any and all questions before bidding, I am happy to take more pics and answer any questions ahead of time. The floors, see pics, were solid and the car has the original undercoating, so it is solid but not 100% cosmetically perfect. Does it have any body filler? It may have a little when the trim was removed, but I would guess not too much. The restoration on this car started with a great candidate. Thanks for looking and I accept cash or bank check or wire. Cash is king- US only please. $500 deposit and balance due within a week or so. I can help load, thanks for looking. Text or email any questions to 630-935-8561.On Sep-06-17 at 04:52:21 PDT, seller added the following information:

The dog-dish hub caps inside the trunk do not come with the car. The trunk image was just to show the good solid condition of the pans. Sorry for the confusion.
