Car description

No reserve! This listing has been edited to add several photos that highlight the worst body damage the car has. Descriptions of said damage are included near the end of this listing.

This car is complete, never wrecked. All chrome trim pieces are there except four letters that are part of "DODGE" (think the G is the only letter there). Rust is minimal for a 54 year old car. Engine is a 225 slant six, tranny is a three speed column shift. Runs and drives, clean title. But don't think you can just hop in and enjoy mile after mile of trouble-free driving. The most serious issue is the shift linkage-only has 2nd and 3rd currently). Seriously, this is a pain. Advise dropping in a floor-mount shift kit, maybe swap out the 3 speed for a 4 speed or an automatic if so inclined. Steering column is sloppy.Interior is bad, driver side floorpan is rusted and should be replaced. Driver door needs to be adjusted so it closes easily. Windshield cracked (new windshield approx. $200) No parking brake, but have all the hardware. Steering components have had all the original rubber crack and dry over the years, will need to rebuild that. Engine needs a tuneup. DOES NOT SMOKE! Fuel gauge doesn't work, but there is power all the way to the tank. A new fuel sending unit is around $45.Headlight dimmer switch needs to be replaced (around $5). I do have a reprint of the factory shop manual.

Dashboard was butchered, so I added a steel lunchbox and made it a second glove box. Headlineris missing, but all hardware is there. When thiswas on the Detroit assembly line, a worker painted "Gary" on theinterior roof using the samecoler blue paint as the original interior. I have two replacement door panels for the front doors.

The excellent British rockabilly band The Polecats signed the glove box door.

Many years before I got the car, the driver side rear tire blew out. An interior photo of the trunk shows how the fender has slightly separated from the trunk floor. On the plus side, you can also see that there are no serious rust issues in the fenderwells. On to the hood: there is a crimp along the passenger side of the hood. This was not due to accident, but due to the hood hinges not being properly lubricated and past owners just wrenching the hood closed with brute force. This caused the hood to bend. I have always kept it lubed, but it should be lubed again. I've been told that a body shop can weld this crimp and flatten the hood out quickly. The other main body damage is the front edge of the driver door. Don't know how it happened, as it apparently occurred in the distant past. May be an easy fix, may be easier to replace the door. I am no body and paintguy, so I dunno.

I also included a photo of the mighty power plant. I changed out the freeze plugs, added an aluminum radiator a year ago and an aluminum heater core last December. Want a/c? Roll down the windows!

This car can be driven short distances. I regularly drive it towork and back (18 miles round trip). Caris currently registered.
It's solid, it's straight, it's mostly all there, it's rare. It is a great foundation for a starter project-but it is a project.
I can take specific photos if you want. Except nude images. Trust me, you don't want that.

Her name is Betty. She'd appreciate it if you could keep it, but that is up to you.

If the winner lives in Las Vegas, I'll driveBetty to you. If you need to have it shipped, the cost and hassle is yours. Overseas buyers are welcome, but again, your responsibility getting her home.
