I purchased this Charger inMay 1992. There wereabout 13664 automatic 1969 383-4bbl Dodge Charger 2 Door Sports Hardtop built in the U.S.A. This one is a rare A41White Hat Special with vinyl roof available in early 1969 only. One of the best things about this Charger is it has always been a nice car in good condition. It has never been in bad condition. The Charger was originally from Georgia. This is one of the cleanest Chargers I have ever seen. The underneath of this Charger is unbelievably clean. This car has been very well preserved. Ihad the Charger repainted in 1993 because the paint was faded. I left most of the original paint on the Charger, I just had the Charger sanded down and repainted over the original paint. There was only a few small pin holes in the rear quarter panels that were smooth over with body filler. That is the only body work ever done to the Charger. It has all its original panels, and has never been in any accidents. The paint job is 24 years old and still looks good. When you look closer, you will notice some small chips, scratches, and bubbles in the paint from over the years. The previous owner put a six pack scoop on the hood. I replaced the hood with a new factory one. The original 383hp was replaced with a 440 by the previous owner. The 440 block is a warranty block dated in late 1968 and was put in early 1969 cars. This is the correct dated engine for this car. The warranty block does not have any VIN number stamp on it. This is a very rare and hard part to find. The 440 engine was professionally rebuilt by Shepard's Automotive. It has a 284/484 Mopar Performance cam, adjustable 1.6 roller rocker arms, forged crank, and 906 heads, that have been ported and polished and fitted with 2.14 / 1.81 Max Wedge valves. 9.1 compression ratio that runs perfect on 91 octane pump gas. The engine builder estimated the horse powerto be around 450 to 480. I upgraded to the Mopar Performance MSD box and electric ignition. The 727 Auto Transmission was professionally rebuilt to handle 500 horsepower. Has a 10 inch Hemi Torque Converter. The rear end is a 8.75 professionally rebuilt by Shepard's Automotive. It has a 3.91 gear ratio. The exhaust system is stock high performance original exhaust manifolds with2 1/2 Inch TTIaluminized exhaust system, Flow Master Mufflers and TTI factory style exhaust tips. New gas tank, sending unit and stainless steel fuel lines. The front drum brakes were upgraded with SSBS front disc brakes, with slotted rotors. Has beautiful Center Line Wheels, 15 Inch, Aluminum, Modular Series Convo Pro Satin Center with Polished Outer. The interior is in excellent condition. The carpet has been replaced. The seats have been professionally recovered with Legendary Interior Covers. This also has a original AM/FM radio, and yes, it works. The only thing on this Charger that doesn't work is the dash clock and air condition. I was planning on upgrading the air condition to the new 134a system from Classic Air, but I never got around to doing that. This is a very quick and reliable Charger. This is a great investment thatis fun to drive and get attention every where you take it. This Charger was built to drive and enjoy. This isa fine example of real sixty muscle. The only reason I'm selling this Charger is because I do not have the time to take it out and enjoy it. I bought this Charger in 1992 with 48,000 miles on it. Now it has 54,720 miles on it. That's6790 miles put on this Charger in the last 25 years. If you have any questions, email me. I will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also call me at330-696-3541.
