75 Dodge Dart in excellent condition . This is the original grandma/grandpa car . This is definitely a true survivor . This dodge dart swinger has only 42,968k on it .It did not clock over . She has the old reliable slant six which were know to be one of the best engines Chrysler ever made . Yes a lot of people pull these out and put a v-8 in however these motors were VERY reliable and lasted a long time . 2 door hardtop with no posts . This is the desirable A body . Power steering and manuel brakes .
BODY : The body is in very good condition . Solid quarter, solid truck and overall a very solid car . It was repainted at one time in its life . The creme color it has now is a lot nicer then its original gold color . The floor pans were replaced and done by a professional 2 years ago . The floors inside and underneath were coated with under coating and bed liner to avoid them rusting out again . The original rug and sound deadner replaced . The vinyl landow roof was professional replaced and body work done properly . The paint looks very good, actually to me its is fine with no major issues, but everyone has their own opinion . . All the chrome for 40 year old chrome looks bright and sunny .I aint saying its a show room car butpretty nice . You don't need to be painting it right now or doing any major body work to it .Its really nice looking car just the way it is . .I get a lot of compliments on it . The trunk and door jambs were painted when the car was painted so everything matches . I have a new replacement plaid vinyl trunk mat . Its a replica of original . Trunk is solid with no holesthrew it . Ideally this car just needs a good waxing and cleaning to make it shine and look absolutely fantastic .
BRAKES: The brakes have all been gone over . The wheel cylinders,master cylinder,front caliper, pads and shoes have been changed .The car stops on a dime .Parking brake worksfreely with no issues . Being brakes are a safety issue this was one of the firstissues I addressed when I bought the car .Front disc brakes and drum in rear .
Interior : The interior is in VERY good condition with minimal flaws . Black interior . The front bench seat was repolstered by a old time car seat shop . The back seat is perfect . Headliner is fine . All rubber door gaskets and in very good condition . usually all the rubber weather seals are dry and cracke, not this one they still are like new . .Door panels in great shape, dash pad is perfec, no cracks at all . Overall the interior is VG++++
Electrical : All the lights work as they should. I changed some dash bulbs and had the speedometer repaired . When I purchased the car someone had a am/fm cassette radio in it . I put back in the original factory am radio .The controls in the old radio were cleaned and serviced as well as a new light installed . Overall everything seems to work . Just installed a fresh new battery . Charging system works fine.Alternator rebuilt, starter replaced and ignition modules replaced .All the gauges work and read correctly . It has factory rear defroster which work. Original fender turn signal lights still work as well .
EXHUAST : The muffler,tailpipe,intermediate pipe and catalytic convertor were replaced . No exhaust leaks at all . This was done by a professional exhaust shop .
Trans: Trans shifts nice and smooth with no issues .
Engine : The famous slant six runs excellent . The carbuerator was professionally rebuild by a carb shop in Middlese, NJ . full tune up don, all fluids flushed . Ignition and electrical modules replaced . I had a retired mechanic do a compression test and all cylinders had excellent compression so this motor has a lot of life in it and is not tiried nor need a rebuild nor was it ever rebuilt . . Any obvious that needed to be changed or addressed I did . Runs nice and smooth, no misfire, no smoke and this one would pass inspection I am sure however you don't have to have these inspected anymore .
AC/HEATING ; The a/c was completely gone over by a licensed mechanic . The rv2 compressor was change, as well as the receiver drier and expansion valve . It was converted to R134 . It was evacuated and recharged .Last summer she was blowing cold . The heat blows hot as it should . Just started it up the other day and the compressor kicks on and blows cold . . Usually the a/c systems in these old cars don't work with frozen compressors or been inoperative for decades . Not this on, its got a fresh new compressor and works .
STEARING : this car steers grea, no pulls or vibration .Last summer I replaced both front tire, inner and outer tie rod ends, greased the front end, new shock, new idler arm and took it to a alighnment shop for a front end alighnment .
Overall you got a swinger that needs not much of anything done . Really just about ready to cruise or hit the shows . Pretty much a solid dart with all the sweat, labor, time and money done to make her a reliable trust worthy daily driver . You see a lot of these online with rotted out trunks, no quarter panels left,no floors left, tiried engines, etc, etc . Well this is none of that . This is truly a nice swinger that you don't have to be sinking bucks into .
My reason for selling it is because for starters I don't have a garage, next is I don't have the room and to get rid of a car because I am moving to a community that does not allow all kinds of cars on the property and last is with my current health situation I just aint going to be working on cars like I use too . I only had the car5 years and all that work was done within those years . I only put around 700 miles on it since I had it . I took the dart several times to the Jersey shore and she flew down the parkway with no issues . I bought this off the original owners daughter . You can get in this car and drive it out of state even with confidence that it aint going to break down .You cant say that about most of the heeps you see online but this one is truly reliable . I stand behind what I write on here . This car sits straigh, no sag in the back like most old dodges did . The pictures serve it no justic, should be seen in person . This car was garaged a good portion of its life . Its currently outside under a car cover which breaks my heart because its so nice it should be garaged again to keep it nice . Hope to find this nice little Dart a new good home . Its registered currently and insured . Just pulled it out from being stored for the winter under its cover and gave it a bath . Its ready to be test driven and find a new happy owner that will cherish it, drive it, garage it and get more years of pleasure out of .
