Classic powerwagon 4X4 crew cab. This is a neat old dodge and they are getting hard to find. They look really great restored and it's a rarity to see any old powerwagon at a car show. much less a crew cab. This truck runs and drives. The body is solid and has little rust for the year. Included is a NICE tailgate also. Clear title. I have many other pics I can email also in a photobucket link. Please only ask if your a serious buyer. Thanks and happy bidding. MECHANICALThe dodge has what I believe is a 318 2-barrel v8. I have not looked up an engine code or looked up any identifying numbers on the motor or anything. Definitely has a 4-speed manual. and positraction rear. I don't know if the motor is original. but most likely is and looks unmolested. It run nice and smooth and is very quiet. Starts up well and the choke works. Doesn't smoke at all. Doesn't have any dripping leaks. Oil pressure is not great. It's ok when cold. then drops some. Probably hasn't been changed in some years. It's the original oil pressure gauge also. which are not always accurate. Has a faint ticking which is either a lifter or main bearing. It's not a rod knock. and it runs fine. I would drive it around locally but wouldn't drive it far until the tick is accurately diagnosed. I've also had fuel pumps make the same kind of noise when they are defective. The engine runs cool. Heater. wipers. lights. and turn signals work. The transmission. clutch. and transfer case work as they should with no problems. This has a twin stick transfer case. I've just drove this around my property and tested all gears. I haven't had it out on the highway. Tires have dry rot but would be good for an old plow truck or something. No power steering or brakes. No air. Positrac rear. The brakes work enough for loading. but need bled and possibly checked out. The engine runs really nice and this truck will need very little mechanical work. I would do the usual tuneup stuff. At the most. it will need an oil pump and main bearings but I'm not sure if it even needs that. I've put a fresh oil/filter on old rigs like this and the pressure comes back and ticking stops. I know some of you will do a full rebuild anyways. so it won't matter. Most of these trucks I see are wrecked. rusted badly. multiple colors. or all of the above. This truck has original paint. no bondo. no collision repair. no large dents. few small dents. It comes with a nice tailgate of a similar year truck. The truck has little rust but I'll detail what it has. Rust in the drivers front floorboard where your feet sit. The usual deal. The other floors are nice. Outer rockers have minor rust. Not bad compared to the old chevys. Inner rockers/steps are clean. Roof. frame. fenders. hood. firewall. dash. cowl. core support. jams. pillars. and doors are clean. The box has some rust in the rear area. under where the bottom of the tailgate attaches. These are small areas overall. but will take some work to repair. Mostly flat metal though. and will be an easy repair for a bodyman. The outer box is in nice shape. The box floor has been used pretty good and should be replaced. I guess it depends on what you want to do with the truck. The box floor is fine structurally but doesn't look good. It looks like they lost the original tailgate a long time ago. so they fabbed some plates and then wired the box sides to it to keep from bending the box sides out. The wires really have no tension on them. and the box sides aren't floppy. Drivers door is hard to close. I believe because hing pins are worn. You have to lift it and slam. The front bumper is gone. The truck has been used. but luckily the body survived. Most of the trucks I've seen that are this solid and straight. have not been used for work trucks. I can take the rack off if you don't want it. That would be better for shipping purposes. if this were to go on a stacker trailer. Overall. the truck has a nice body to start with for restoration. INTERIORInterior is pretty basic but the dash and gauge area are actually in good shape. Radio delete. You know if there has not been a stereo cut into the dash that this had to always be adult owned. Everything inside pretty much looks original. No speaker holes. No metal is cut up that I see. All door handles. window cranks. and armrests are on it. OVERALLI love these old powerwagons. It's like going back in time when you drive one. Driving a '68 dodge is kind of like driving a chevy/ford from the 50's. Dodge was always behind in that sense. and very utilitarian in these years. That's what a lot of people like about these though. It's as basic as it gets. This has no power anything. and the old non-synchronized manual transmission that are very tough and sound cool. These power wagons also really hold their value. especially the crew cab trucks. Thanks and happy bidding. THIS TRUCK IS USED AND IS SOLD AS-IS. IT'S 47 YEARS OLD AND NEEDS RESTORATION.
