You are bidding on a 1948 Dodge 5 window 1/2 ton pickup. I am listing this pickup for the widow of a good friend of mine who passed away a little over a year ago. Since he is no longer with us, some of the details about the truck are a bit sketchy, but I will be as accurate as possible. The truck has pretty much sat dormant since his passing, but the widow did add stabil to the fuel and kept the battery on a tender. The truck fired right up when I moved it for her. Here is what I know; The Dodge has a 318 V8 with Holley 4 barrel, and transmission from a 1966 Plymouth Satellite. I believe the differential is also Mopar. In addition, it has been fitted with a torsion bar front suspension. There are parallel leafs in the rear. There are drum brakes all around with a dual master cylinder and it has power steering. The truck rides and handles very well. The black paint is not the greatest, but the truck is very solid. There is a bit of bubbling on the passenger side door bottom, (see photo). The rear fenders are from a later GM pickup, (not sure of the year). Other features include Opel GT taillights, wood bed floor, wood running boards, side exhaust, sunroof, am/fm cassette player, CB radio, gas door in floor of bed, Cadillac leather seats, a visor, a heater, a full set of gauges, and carpeting. The wiring throughout the vehicle is neatly done. Shortly before my friend passed away he added new wheels and radial tires, an electric cooling fan, new water pump, and an electric wiper motor. Only one wiper works, I don't know why. Other issues I can see are a crack in the drivers side door window. (flat glass), a small rip in the front seat, and, as I said, the black paint isn't the greatest, although it is decent driver quality. The chrome is pretty nice as well, although there are some scratches I have driven this truck around my neighborhood. It starts, stops, runs and drives nicely. I would actually purchase it from her myself, but I already have too many vehicles. Someone is going to get a pretty decent little truck that just needs a little TLC. Please feel frree to call me at 414-810-9316 to set up an appointment to view or to ask questions. I'll answer them as honestly and accurately as I can. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding
