FOR SALE: 1986 DODGE RAMCHARGER
Mileage unknown. Engine was supposedly rebuilt by previous owner but I can't verify that as he passed away about five years ago. Odometer only goes to five digits and says 42,414, but the number is obviously higher.
250 Royal SE.
360CC 5.9L Engine.
Runs OK but needs work.
Would make a great project truck for somebody with the tools and mechanical skills that can do the work themself. Or if you wanted you could part it out and make some money. These old SUV's are becoming very collectible. The two back quarter panel windows alone would cost about $800 to replace through SafeLite, so there are definitely some valuable parts on it to the right person.
Needs a new power steering pump as it leaks now. These start at about $40 online. You'd probably want to install a new belt, too, as long as you have the pump removed. It is driveable right now, it just needs to have power steering fluid added to it on a regular basis.
Possibly needs some choke work done. I took it to Clovis Auto Shop to get it smogged and even though it passed the smog test they said there were some problems with a vacuum line and they found that there are problems with the choke and needs repair. But it still runs.
Needs a new metal strap to hold the muffler in place. It's being held up by a coat hanger now but it works fine with no extra noise. This is a cheap and easy fix if you don't mind crawling around underneath the truck. Or you could leave it as is. I drove it from Fresno to Santa Barbara and back with it like this and it worked fine.
Door locks needs to be replaced on both driver and passenger doors. The truck is lockable though and if you wanted to you could just enter and exit through the passenger door and not have to repair them.
AC doesn't work and hasn't since about a year after I got it. It just gradually died out on me. Don't know if it's broken or just needs a recharge.
The heater worked the last time I tried it but could probably use a tune-up.
Tires are in good shape.
Brakes are solid.
Water pump only has about 200 miles on it.
Battery has less than 100 miles on it.
Interior and exterior are both pretty rough and could use some TLC. One little rust hole on the back driver side that will need to be repaired.
No wrecks or collisions as far as I know. The guy I got it from was the original owner and never got into any accidents. Feel free to run a CarFax on it. Let me know what info you need.
Title is clean and I have pink slip in hand!
