This car is 171 of 316 Identical cars built at the Nagoya Japan Plant in 1991 Total production for 1991 was 3,979 Dodge Stealth's.
This car was only on the road for 6-7 years from new, the condition of this car is Excellent. HERE IS THE STORY!
I bought this Stealth in April 1997 in Oregon with about 134,000 miles on the clock.
The engine, was completely rebuilt by the dealer at ABOUT 96,000 miles. (have receipt). The transmission was replaced on 3/8/97 and clutch 3/11/97.(have receipts)
We drove the car about a year (1998)and added about 10,000 miles, I got sent to Europe to work, and parked and covered the car on cement in the back yard at 143,500 miles. It remained parked from late 1998 to 2014. During that time I was only home for 1 to 3 weeks once a year. We treated the seats, started the car, and changed the oil yearly. Mobile One Synthetic only. (48500 ON ENGINE)
In 2014-2016
We replaced the main computer with a rebuilt unit and replaced the capacitors in the ESC computer, Replaced the belts in the stereo and cleaned and inspected all of the components, re solderedthe amp mother board, . In addition, we replaced the IAC, Detonation sensor, ISC servo and the speed sensor reed switch (hence the lower mileage showing as the entire speedometerunit had to be changed out see pictures),fuel Injectors, fuel regulator, spark Plugs, plug wires, radiator, hoses, thermostat, cap, and Flushed cooling system.
We replaced all critical components to the A/C system, (dryer, compressor, expansion valve, dual pressure switch, all O-rings, and flushed the remaining and converted to R134A the right way.
Replaced the Rotors, Brakes and front brake lines,
Replaced the Clutch Master and Slave cylinder.
Replaced the shift bushings.
Replaced the Electronic struts with NOS Monroe electronic, Springs with new Eibach, Ball Joint, Tie rods, and any boots which deteriorated from non-use.
All fluids were replaced with synthetic, anti freeze is standard extended life.
The speedometer unit was changed in 2016 due to a bad reed switch in the old unit so the mileage now shows 73,532(see the pictures for the exact mileage at time of the change out.)
Also new on the Stealth is a set of BF Goodrich 245/50R16 G force Tires Mounted on Like New Vintage era correct American Racing Wheels.
The car was completely disassembled, doors, hood, hatch, fenders and trim removed and painted the original Fire Storm Red/ Black using High Quality PPG Primer & Base/Clear System. All fasteners were replaced with NOS fasteners during reassembly.
We put a high quality custom exhaust on the car just before it was parked. I have now taken it off, and replaced with all original Components, including a NOS catalytic converter(the last one in the country) and new exhaust manifold. (The old cat was put on in 1998 it was a aftermarket and would not pass current smog regs. it took me a few tries to figure it out. With the NOS factory cat it passed California Smog in 2016 with flying colors and no issues.)
The modified exhaust CAT-Back, which is like new, comes with the car, and easy to re-install if you like to hear the engine rumble.
The undercarriage is very clean with no Rust.
This is a car which can be driven anywhere, and would be great for weekend drives, car shows or as a everyday driver.
